Limited Edition is perfect!

I wanted to throw in my two cents. To people complaining about no legendary edition, I don’t get why your so mad. One thing that always ticked me off was that there were to many editions of the halo games. I just wanted ONE limited edition. The prices were always to much for me to afford legendary, which made me say “Well then I’m not getting the limited cause I’m missing out on all the legendary stuff” and I ended up getting the regular edition. It made things to confusing, so 343 I’m happy with only ONE edition that I can afford, and doesn’t make me feel left out

What do you think? Discuss!

I agree because of how confusing it is.

I wanted to buy an LE again. Reach was my first BIG purchase.
I have the money again now…and there ISNT an LE (yet)…If there is no Legendary, why not just name the Limited edition “Legendary Edition”. C’mon!

Edit: The price is fine, and the goodies are great, so I’ll say I agree that its perfect…until they announce the Legendary Edition.

So…you just want them to name it legendary edition? I’d have to agree on that actually, they should call it legendary edition to fit tradition…but still keep it the only two editions, regular and special one. Also as for your comment “and there ISNT an LE (yet)” they confirmed upon announcement that limited edition and regular would be the only two.

Drat! Oh well…I guess I’ll settle for The Limited Edition. Maybe I’ll buy myself a shirt or something to ease my pain. lol

> · War Games Map Pack Access – The Limited Edition includes access to nine maps – three future competitive multiplayer map packs, each including three locations, available for download post-launch on Xbox LIVE.
> (A detailed release schedule for the map packs will be announced at a later time)

3 map packs all Regularly $15 a piece($45}

> · Specializations – Receive early access to six Specializations, available at launch on Xbox LIVE, to achieve higher ranks in your Spartan career. In addition to gaining access to new ranks, Specializations unlock new customization options. Purchasers of the “Halo 4” Limited Edition will get access on launch day, while others will have to wait as Specializations are released over time.

This will probably end up being pretty useful and i like it but cant really a dollar amount on it

> · The Limited Edition also contains the UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet, which includes an armor customization schematic, a blueprint of the massive ship itself, and insight into what it means to be one of humanity’s finest warriors: the Spartan-IVs.

Briefing pack similar to Halsey Journal so about $20 worth

> · Bonus digital content through Xbox LIVE:
>
> o Unique in-game Spartan-IV armor skin
>
> o Unique in-game weapon skin for the Assault Rifle
>
> o An exclusive in-game emblem
>
> o Xbox LIVE Avatar prop
>
> o Xbox LIVE Avatar Spartan-IV armor set

So the ingame stuff doesn’t have a Dollar amount but the Avatar stuff is at lease $10-15 worth

> · “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn” Special Edition – An extended 90-minute version of the live-action digital series that will bring the “Halo” universe to life as you’ve never seen it, and provide an enthralling backstory leading up to the events of “Halo 4.”

This is pretty close to halo legends But i think will be awesome and i cant wait either way if it any where close to Legends its worth $20 approximately

PLus the game Which is already $60

all that together equals $160

And there only charging $99.99 Really this is AWESOME i cant wait so EXCITED

I agree with OP, a part from big plastic heaps, aka “statues”, Legendary was quite pointless and having only a somewhat “beefed up” Limited would be enough. No need to offer more then standard and “collectors” edition, if you want more you can always buy toys/props/stuff online and spend as much as you’d like.
Not to mention, fewer and smaller editions are better for the environment

Im glad theres only two to choose from. This will be my first halo game that I get the limited edition for. (Excluding wars which I probably got off of amazon.)

In my opinion, the LE comes with a good variety of things. The map pack alone is impressive but I love the little booklet on the Infinity. The more story the better!

You make a good point, which I’d like to point out. This will in fact be the first time I purchase anything but the regular edition of the game. It’s simple, cheap, and you don’t feel left out buying the less expensive version.

I’m just happy because I just got $57.50 for pretty much just sitting around being hungry

I love the Limited Edition content. though the early specialization stuff seems like a waste, but either way, awesome!

… though I am really surprised that because Infinity is such a big importance in Halo 4, we don’t get a small model of it or something like that.

I agree, the limited edition is more than enough to satisfy me. I never felt the bungie legendary editions were very legendary, beyond the little statues and things that have sat around gathering dust on my shelf. We normally only got one true extra thing from purchasing the Legendary editions, instead of the limited editions. So I think this will make everyone happy, your getting a bundle of extras for much less than the actual retail price would be if they were all seperate items.I especially like the map packs which I’m sure will be really great ways to see how hard they’ve focused on making the game and maps more lovable, competitive,.

> I’m just happy because I just got $57.50 for pretty much just sitting around being hungry

I got $110! i saved $210 and this turned out to be just $100

Also agree OP!

I couldnt agree more. The fact that they even release a limited edition is giving us more than we should get, people should be able to enjoy the game without the need to have added bonuses

I might actually just purchase the limited edition to this game.

wrong thread

You may want to re-think your post. Essentially this reads; “I didn’t like the Legendary Editions, because I’m poor and stupid.” That’s not a legitimate complement, ten seconds of research would tell you the difference between the editions.

Saying it was pointless to have the statue, and the helmet, that they could have added other things is a valid argument. Saying that you didn’t like it because you just wanted the game, that is a valid argument. Yours is not.

Lets take a look at the Halo Limited Edition.

*It comes with Call of Duty Elite which will allow you to obtain the map packs.

*CoD points: Which will unlock game-play elements for people who decide to buy it. Further unbalancing the game DAY ONE, the only difference is instead of playing to get an advantage, you bought it. This is fundamentally wrong.

*Exclusive DLC, like the Flaming Reach helmet, which I thought the Halo community was against, what a fickle lot we are.

*Avatar items.

*The movie( which will just be a collection of shorts we’ll see for free anyways.)

*The Infinity paper work.

This is lazy. In fact this is the MW3 collectors edition, no really.

Cod Elite, Avatar items,a journal, etc.

I was just hoping they would put some effort into this one, not feel so inadequate about people playing their game that they add the, season pass gimmick, and essentially bundle a $40.00 pass, which will be for sale day one, with some other crap, and call it a day

>

No you Need to Pull your head out and rethink your whole post seriously

> You may want to re-think your post. Essentially this reads; “I didn’t like the Legendary Editions, because I’m poor and stupid.” That’s not a legitimate complement, ten seconds of research would tell you the difference between the editions.

This is arrogant And not even close to what he was saying
True Large un-useful object collect dust and that’s it helmets Statues they dont bring anything to the table except something to look at and why charge and extra 60 Bucks for something You will literally never use??

> Saying it was pointless to have the statue, and the helmet, that they could have added other things is a valid argument. Saying that you didn’t like it because you just wanted the game, that is a valid argument. Yours is not.

How is his argument any different from what you just said???

Lets take a look at the Halo Limited Edition.

> *It comes with Call of Duty Elite which will allow you to obtain the map packs.

Its nothing like COD elite(which cost 50 as a yearly subscription) and this is actually practically free.

> *CoD points: Which will unlock game-play elements for people who decide to buy it. Further unbalancing the game DAY ONE, the only difference is instead of playing to get an advantage, you bought it. This is fundamentally wrong.

This wasn’t even mentioned in the Press release for the Limited edition. Its just a basic gameplay element which is called Spartan point and is just a different name fore a fake Currency and actually seems logical if you USE you brain and think about it

> *Exclusive DLC, like the Flaming Reach helmet, which I thought the Halo community was against, what a fickle lot we are.

It never once said anything about flaming heads and you actually sound pretty fickle yourself.

> *Avatar items.

Ok halo has always had Avatar item and what the issue with giving them away free???

> *The movie( which will just be a collection of shorts we’ll see for free anyways.)

But the Short will most likely be HD along with Behind the scenes content much like a DVD which in itself is worth atleast 20 buck

> *The Infinity paper work.

Content fans love this Halseys Journal, book novels this no me sound great and seeing as they’re tying in any and all fiction together this will probably play a large role for people who are hardcore collector and into the back-story and Canon

> This is lazy. In fact this is the MW3 collectors edition, no really.
>
> Cod Elite, Avatar items,a journal, etc.

Dude your So ridiculous it astonishing

> I was just hoping they would put some effort into this one, not feel so inadequate about people playing their game that they add the, season pass gimmick, and essentially bundle a $40.00 pass, which will be for sale day one, with some other crap, and call it a day

Reread my post a break down of everything ACTUALLY included and what there actually. everything is quite worth the Price

This might actually be the first time I buy a special edition of a game. I started to weigh the worth of how much the special edition would be compared to the standard.

The game: $60

The 9 DLC maps: $30 (would probably buy these anyway).

Forward Unto Dawn DVD: Easily worth $5 (lowered value because of access to video online for free)

Armor and Weapon skin: $5-$10 (depending on how cool they look)

Avatar Item: probably $2-$3

Mark VII Avatar Item: $5

Collectable Case: $5

Briefing Packet: $5

Emblem: $1

That’s about $118-$124 worth of content for $100.

Agreed limited edition is cool.
