Limited Edition in stores.

Idc if this is a stupid question I just need to know fast whether or not le is in stores now or for the launch night. Ex: Best buy, Walmart , gamestop, and other major retailers? No stupid comments please, just good answers!

I highly doubt it. They only made so many… the only way you’d be able to get LE now is if you pre-ordered it before it was sold out…

OR

Wait 2-3 days and check the stores and see if someone didn’t pick up their LE edition. (Rare instance, but it’s happened before)

my gamestop usually has special editions available after launch so check there.

i usually dont believe the numbers, many other games whos LE’s sold out are still sitting at my walmarts shelf collecting dust. ie reach, mass effect 3

Obviously Halo 4 isn’t in stores now, but a lot of places are currently not taking anymore pre-orders. There might be more copies of the Halo 4 LE on release day, but at the same time, there might not. I do know that 343I wanted to make the limited edition actually limited this time.

Or the OP might want to go check around on Nov 6 - 7. With the LE controller, there were a few extra available for sale (at GameStop). I do not know if it was due to cancellations or potential extra orders on their part.

Hopefully you will get lucky!

Frankly i think this was pretty crummy of them. If this were standard practice I’d be fine with it, but to depart from past practice (plenty of LE copies for anyone who wanted one) without warning was crummy in my opinion. They basically expected people to buy something without knowing what they’d be getting. By the time significant information came out about the game the LE was sold out at a lot of retailers.

Basically they changed the rules without telling people, and that doesn’t seem very nice to me.

I kind of agree about the amount of LE copies being low in numbers, but it is called a limited edition. But when you say that they expected people to buy it without knowing what they’re getting, that isn’t really true Information on what the Halo 4 LE comes with has been know since May 16th. I pre-ordered my copy months later, September 4th specifically, and there was plenty of significant information by that time.

There were “limited” editions of Halo 3 and Reach, and you can still buy them. You seem to have missed my point, which is that they broke from tradition by making an limited edition that’s so limited it sold out weeks before the game was released.

I wasn’t referring to the contents of the box, I was referring to the game in general. As much as I love Halo, this is 343’s first game. I wanted to know more about what the game would be like, including all parts, before I was willing to pre-order it.

I was hesitant unless I saw some of the videos released pretty recently. By then the LE was sold out at a lot of retailers.

It’s a new company, so they really don’t need to be following traditions. I like it. Limited should mean limited. First come, first serve. If you miss out, you miss out. That’s what limited means.

You’ll always be able to find copies online, and there will be people who don’t pick up their copies, but aside from that you’re probably very out of luck.

No company ever has to follow traditions, but when you break with tradition without warning you risk ticking people off.

Look, let’s be honest here. Unless you announce an edition size the term “limited” is meaningless as the vast majority of products are “limited” in the sense that they aren’t produced forever.

If the supply is so limited it can’t even meet initial demand then the vendor should state the edition size. That’s what a good company would do. I have several items that were limited editions, but I knew the edition size when I bought them. Without an edition size the term “limited” is just a marketing gimmick.

Not really. I’m not dying to get the LE, I just thought it might be interesting and was annoyed to find out 343 had decided to play by a different set of rules this time. I don’t appreciate those kinds of surprises. This is a good example of why I was hesitant to pre-order: I don’t trust 343i. I’ve experienced too many problems with them, too many broken promises.
