Limited Edition FUD film disappointment...

Are there any other Limited Edition owners out there who feel disappointed that the Forward Unto Dawn extended cut we were promised is only available to watch via Waypoint?
I was expecting it to be included on a DVD in the Limited Edition packagaing.

> The Special Edition of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn is a 90-minute extended version of the live-action digital series which will take fans back to the terrifying beginning of the Human/Covenant war, when the Master Chief inspired a young cadet who would eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC’s greatest vessel ever: the UNSC Infinity.

The bulletin should have made it clearer that it wasn’t going to be on a physical disc in my opinion.
If I want to watch it on a regular DVD player I can’t. It looks like I’m going to have to purchase the DVD for nearly £10 GBP.
One of the reasons I purchased the Limited Edition game was because I thought it included the film on DVD.
The film is awesome by the way!

If I bought the game expecting it to be a DVD then yes. But I’ve known it was a digital-only package since it’s announcement. So complaining about something known for months aside. Yes. It is disappointing. I shouldn’t have to buy a separate BD version of the movie just because 343i decided to water down the LE content.

-Yoink!- made it online only because they don’t have to pay for the disk.

It wasn’t ready for disk yet…

FUD was the reason I changed my pre order to the LE. I was also expecting a hard copy. This is the one thing above all else that annoyed the hell out of me. There was quite literaly nothing in the LE that I feel justifies the added cost.

Last LE I buy.

I got to say that it did fill different

I don’t mind it’s Digital.

but it would be nice that it would actually work instead of constanly saying
" an Error occurred while attempting to play the video"

But I bought The DVD after that so…

FUD was cool but frankly I would have preferred they spent some of that budget (and the Lichtenstein event budget, my lords) on improved multiplayer stuff, like a better credit/armor system or… i dunno. anything but marketing.

As for the disc thing, sadly I think it is the future we face. Latest news over the past week from MSFT implies that the next Xbox will not allow game sharing (e.g. no discs, downloaded content only).

They spent it on hiring other companies to make the game for them. Hence the issues once they put all the pieces back together.

IMDB estimates the budget at around $8,500,000.
Money well spent in my opinion, the film is very good.

Little late to the party on this one OP, but yeah it would have been nice if it was a physical copy.

Yeah, I know. It’s just that someone posted a link to the soundtrack on YouTube earlier today and it got me thinking about it again. This is something that’s bugged me ever since I purchased the limited edition but I’ve only got round to posting about it today.

But surely that would exclude everyone that doesn’t have broadband internet from playing games?
That would hit console sales hard, so I don’t know about that.
I hope they don’t do it anyway.

I’d just given up hope that it was coming out on DVD in the UK. Thanks for posting that link OP.

There is absolutely zero information from Microsoft implying this.

The only thing that exists are baseless rumors.

I was hoping for a DVD or a redeemable Digital Download code (like how Batman Arkham City Game of the Year edition gave you Batman Year One).

Nope, gotta stream it from waypoint. I’m not hating on Waypoint, I just find it so damn inconvient to stream a movie when I could watch it on my xbox whenever I want. Also, I don’t exactly have the best conneciton to stream in HD.

You’re welcome. I only found it this week myself.

It was a huge disappointment.

Not only were all the episodes poorly edited together(even I could have done a better job with my amateur skills) but we are still lacking the Making of Forward Unto Dawn and Making of Halo 4 featurettes.

Just download it on your pc. You own the original, so you’re technically allowed to have a copy for your own use.

btw: it really is disappointing that it is just a online stream. I expected al least a download…
