Limited Edition buyers upset? I know I am

I dont know about everyone else who spent the extra $40 for limited edition, but I know one of the main reasons i did was early access to all the specializations. However, it bothers me that now as long as you played online during the first two weeks you will get access to all 8 specializations by December 1st.Seeing as there is no way to contact 343 directly the next best option was posting something on here. Im pretty upset about this seeing as it cost me $40 extra for limited and had I known I would just have to wait until December 1st to get access to all the specializations I wouldnt have bought the limited edition of the game. Does any else who got LE feel a bit upset by this to?

Cry more.

I agree completely. If I’m going to buy an “exclusive” item then make it exclusive! If they are going to unlock all of the specializations then make it a new one every 2 weeks once a certain number of players have hit level 50. If people who didn’t buy the limited edition are stuck with only 2 or 3 options for a while then so be it. The extras that came with the limited edition aren’t worth the extra money I forked over.

They said long before the game came out that the specializations would be released for everyone else after the game released.

No reason to be upset when it was well known.

Also, that extra $40 you paid was for the Forward Unto Dawn series and the War Games Map Pass, not the specializations. That may have been what you put the extra $40 bucks in for, but that isn’t really what it was for.

that’s a cmplaint alright. but it does hamper people from playing the game, which I disagree with overall.

What really gets me is I was promised a copy of Forward unto dawn. What do you get? a digital code to watch it online…I can already watch it online, I think 40 bucks should get me more than a slightly spiffy game case (it’s not even metal like 2/wars)

Lets go over this.

Halo 3, I got a helmet,

halo reach I got a statue of noble team.

Halo 4 I got…nothing at all.

you don’t get FUD

you get permission to view it on halo waypoint, but you don’t actually own a copy.

I’m not upset, at all about the Specializations. I’m a SR104 right now. I know many people that played before the 20th, and are still stuck on SR70.

No one feels bad for you

Except the LE never claimed to have “exclusive” specializations that everyone else will now be getting. It claimed to have “early access”. Massive difference.

@OP:
You had almost a month with your “early access”. How long would you have preferred? At what point would you have said, “Ok, now everyone else can have them, too.”

Just you wait, this is a new trilogy after all. By the next Halo things should be more special.

…i’m a limited edition purchaser.

so how long would you say we should hold of on the spec, since, from what i hear, there are already sr130 about, and a player can max out his daily xpx in just 12 games now, hell, i’ve bene playing, not religously mind you, but just playing, and i’m lvl 77, i also work a full time job, and i have already gone with 2 of the spec that non limited userrs don’t have access to, should we just wait for special fred to get to 130 first before we unlock everyhting, cuase fredy only play 15 minutes a day, and you get early access to the spec, AND SHOCK AND -Yoinking!- AWES, 1MONTH AHEAD OF EVERYONE IS EARLY ACCESS, not premier access, so, seriously, this thread only makes you out to be a bigot, and a player i would never want to play with.

I paid $150 and got a flaming head.
I paid $100 and got prime armor/assault rifle.

Oh wait I also got physical things I can open read and attach to my jacket.

If early access in witch you thought meant exclusive was the only reason why you spent $100 then you need to look at your life and think on a few things.

Just some advice.

Access to game altering mechanics should not be exclusive to begin with…

But I agree with the basic point you are trying to make.

The same thing happened (in theory) with Mass Effect 3… People payed for the Collector edition to get access to a DLC Character, then BioWare (or EA depending on how you look at it) decided to sell the same character as Day 1 DLC to everyone else…

let me brake this down for you.
first, the map pass was going to be different from the original one, still gave me the maps but i did not get the two helmets which we the fans made them fix btw. the FOD is a joke. its a stream download that you can only watch through waypoint. the specializations where originally not going to be released this early. they where going to do it in small updates to give people more over time. but now we can it if we played after the game came out. 343 really needs to plan better in the future. the LE was so not worth the extra $40.

funny how you got more from the reach LE, then we did from 343.

That’s your own fault for not realizing they would be unlocked for everyone.

I mean really. Why would they just let LE buyers have access to all eight specializations and leave everyone else in the dust?

If you are going by physical objects, in H4, you get a poster, and a pamphlet

I do agree that the LE didn’t come with enough things to be worth your money, but that doesn’t excuse you from researching what you are buying. They did say they would be releasing them all after the game launched. The only reason I think you should not have your way on the specializations is that NOT having LE is making people leave the game. I don’t understand how 343i has not seen it by numbers… I have 4 friends who are stuck at 70, not including myself, and all 4 of them are now playing CoD blops2. It makes me so sad that they would make a system that limits how much we can play the game. If I could continue leveling than I would not give 2 -Yoinks!- about your earlier access specs, ESPECIALLY if they were 1-50trueskill h2 ranks. Come onnn 343

I picked up the limited edition for the map packs and all the cool little goodies they throw in. It reminds me of the olden days, when games used to come with kick butt instruction manuals. Didn’t really care about the early access to specialications, didn’t even bother to enter the code until I reached level seventy anyways.

No this is what you paid for. Halo 4 Limited Edition | Halo Alpha | Fandom

INSTANT” Access to all 8 specializations.

Not exclusive access, this isnt COD where you can pay to get the advantage (i.e. COD Elite heatmaps clans etc.). This is halo, halo is known for its balance in game so if you really expected to be given an advantage over all other players because you “forked over” 40 extra bucks then i dont think you have played any halo games before now. and from what i saw on that list its pretty big and worth it as it is, you even get the war games map pass as well as a lot of other cool content. Dont be mad just because other players now are even with you, you had your month (tbh it doesent fit the halo style that this happened in the first place but im not part of 343 so i cant change it) the extra money was because i suppose you love the game and want to support the developers of it as well as get some extra swag. If it stayed like this anyways people would stop getting on (like they have recently since they all hit the lv 70 cap) so be glad they are doing this, it will benefit your matchmaking experience.

Cry me a river. I’m loving the LE.
