I was discussing the upcoming flight with friends and my stream chat. One of the major questions that was brought up time and time again that I didn’t have an answer to and was hoping maybe a dev or someone in the know would is, “What about the anti cheat?” and “How will this be different from other Free to Play games that struggle with hackers and DDOS”. As an apex player/streamer it’s been rampant and anyone with eyes can see how bad it’s doing. Warzone isn’t in a better state either. Now barring that they’re Battle Royales, they’re also Free to Play. This same problem plagued CSGO and many other arenas style shooters. How is Infinites multiplayer scene going to avoid this problem and what will we as players have in-game to aid in reporting of people if we do see this?
yeah i have the same concerns i hope corssplaform is optional to avoid PC hackers. Im sure they will have better systems implented with the new halo just matter of how good they will be.
Cheating today is one of the biggest problems that players encounter on any platform we play. Cheat programs are increasingly professionalized and destroy the gaming experience completely, we need a solution that ends this problem and quickly.

If you believe it’s just PC players that cheat, you’re in for a very nasty surprise…
It’s impossible to avoid cheaters entirely unfortunately. It’s not just free games that are plagued by them either. Titanfall 2 is a paid game yet it’s plagued by cheaters which is made by the same studio that made Apex. I hear Valorant is actually pretty good even though it’s F2P. So honestly it seems to me that the studio handling the game is a more important factor in terms of how bad cheaters are rather than the business model. Obviously F2P makes it easier to cheat but you get what I mean. As far as I know we have no clue about 343i’s plans on cheating, I hope they’re ready but honestly I’m not holding my breath considering this is their first major PC release besides MCC.
PCs don’t hold exclusive rights to cheaters, but it is less straightforward on consoles as I understand it. While P2P games do have cheating problems, it’s less common due to the cost of getting banned and having to pay to buy in again. TF2 doesn’t count because Respawn gives 0 -Yoink- about it and does nothing to prevent hackers from ruining those games.
No news on it yet. hopefully cheaters will just be paired up with bots in matchmaking without disclosing it to them.

Not strictly true. 343i Did mention how they have anti cheat built into the game. Not exactly how they’ll handle cheaters once they’ve been caught but software is in the game to catch players who are cheating. Link to that post will be below.

May I refer you to this blog. The Inside Infinite PC blog addresses cheating and how 343i have in game software that will help catch cheaters.
This also is a problem on non f2p games. Don’t get it twisted. And with hacking devices available for consoles it’s just as easy to cheat on consoles as it is on PC.
Hi honestly I hope they run a dual anti cheat kind of like fortnite does. Riots Valorant is also another good example, but alot of PC players(myself included) aren’t really thrilled at the thought of kernel anti cheat system (it can be abused and pretty much is a system take over in a box)
