So i know they’re reworking alot of the weapons in the tu coming in june, I know they’re buffing battle rifles damage to make make it a 4shot kill weap, so itll be a better mid range weapon, was wondering if the unscoped lightrifle is getting any kind of damage adjustment too or will the br just crap on the lightrifle at mid range?
Yes I know LR’s scoped rate of fire and RRR range is being changed to make it superior to DMR at long range, I’m just worried at mid range /unscoped its going to get completely destroyed by the BR
Probably but that’s what happens when you use the long range weapons. I suggest getting two scoped shots off zoomed in. That always seems to work better for me then the one zoomed shot.
Not quite, 1 shot scoped 3 shots unscoped will kill.The LR just takes excellent eye to hand coordination and reaction time.The LR will still have the fastest kill time at medium-long range.As long as you can nail the first shot scoped your good to go.
To your question no, as far as i know the LR’s damage unscoped/scoped remains the same.Though you can get more scoped shots off faster.Which is of course good news for LR users.
My main weapon is light rifle, always has been since launch, I was just wondering because outside of big infinity slayer , I find myself using unscoped alot more than scoped due to the map size/map movement. Guess with the BR change, the lightrifle will get pushed further to its intended role, as THE long range weapon. Thanks for the good replies
We’ll see. The DMR is also supposed to be THE longer range weapon, should be a dead tie with the Lightrifle as far as that goes, mainly because DMR has higher ROF than Lightrifle, otherwise the DMR is irrelevant, which would be dumb.
I agree. I made 3 threads on this subject and it seems people think LR is a long range weapon that should not compete with BR.
Fact is LR is a MID to LONG range weapon. Its uniqueness is that it can compete with any rifle at their intended range hence 2 kill times. In other words LR can beat DMR at range and is only slightly slower than BR/CC at mid range.
343 has it backwards. LR scoped doesnt need an ROF buff, it already beats DMR at range. LR 5 shot needs the tweaking just so it can keep up with BR/CC. Currently BR kills in 1.73 seconds vs LR unscoped 1.77 seconds. 4 shot BR will be 1.4-1.5 seconds. That means LR unscoped will outclassed. LR unscoped needs a RoF buff so it kills at 1.5-1.6. Unscoped should be able to compete with new BR/CC kill times. Leaving LR unscoped at 1.77 is a HUGE mistake.

I agree, but it seems the competitive community and 343 disagrees with us. I’ll definitely be switching to the BR after the TU. Gotta go wit da flo
