This was only a minor issue in the Beta, but I would like to see it fixed in the final game.
In the Spartan Hub, the lighting was not fantastic. It was very dark, and because the lighting was so dark, the detail of the armor or the reflection of the visor was not showcased as well as it could be. The lighting in the Spartan Hub should be brighter, and have a distinct light source. With better lighting in the Spartan Hub, the detail of the armor could be brought out more and customizing your SPARTAN would be a much more enjoyable experience.
In the Beta, however, I noticed that after completing a game, depending on what map you had played on, the lighting in the Spartan Hub was the same lighting used in the map. In other words, after finishing a game, then going into the game menu/Spartan Hub, the lighting for the display of the SPARTAN armor would be the lighting used in the map you had just played on.
For example, if you had just finished playing a game on Orion (the forge map with the Hydra, Energy Sword, and Sniper Rifle), the lighting in the Spartan Hub would be very much akin to a sunset. The light in the visor and on the armor would be very yellow and warm, and some reflections of the map geometry could be seen in the visor. The lighting that was present in the map during gameplay would be present as the lighting in the Spartan Hub.
This was an interesting and fun “feature” that I discovered. The lighting in the Spartan Hub directly correlates to what area of the beta you were last in (the main menu, after playing a match). I wouldn’t be upset if this “feature” stayed in the final game.
However, there were also bugs in the Spartan Hub. After playing a match, your SPARTAN’s armor would usually turn completely pink and have very low resolution textures. Additionally, the HUD from your last moment of playing a game could be seen on the SPARTAN armor if the model was rotated correctly (you could see the HUD’s reticule, shields, and other displays on top of the SPARTAN model). These bugs must be fixed for the final game.
