In the future for Halo I hope the bright glare to everything is gone. Halo 4 looked like everything had been polished brighter than Mr Cleans head and it is nauseating after playing for a short period of time. Its one of my biggest concerns and nobody has addressed it yet. Everything in H4 had brightness to the max. Hopefully 343 darkens things up a bit for the next game.
Also the colors are extremely light. The red and blue spartans from the Halo games before 4 are a perfect example of this.
Just look at previous Halo games and you can see what I mean.
I agree. Idk if it’s my plasma, or the game, default settings on the the tv make areas too dark. Requiem for instance, when in the warrhog at beginning most of the driving parts in the darker areas, are damn dark, then when you pop out in that vast open it’s mr cleans bald head.
I have somewhat of a different issue. My issue is I will go to bright areas and have a hard time seeing dots on my radar. All I see is bright light. Might just be a personal problem, though.
I agree on the lighting factor, they went a bit too over the top in brightness.
They need to make the visuals look more realistic and darker, but seeing as how they say that Halo 5 is going to have a darker storyline, I don’t see why they wouldn’t make the lighting a bit darker itself. However I don’t think the visuals should be based off of Reach, as it has too much of a dim colour, and eventually made everything look grey. Only a few Campaign missions change this opinion and make it irrelevant.
I know, tho I do hope that Halo 5 will have that level of quality when it comes to graphics on the Xbox One, but I’m not expecting very bright and colorful, I’m more of expecting lighting to be bright for levels/areas that require bright light like on a starship, in some parts of active forerunner installations. Every where else, I’m hoping for dark lighting, and more gritty than Halo 4.

I agree. Reach had a color contrast that seemed more realistic to me. H4s colors were faded and the lighting needed to be turned down a few levels. I don’t know what 343 was going for but I hope in h5 the colors are more rich and the lighting levels have been fixed.

Reach was too dull for me. Colors were all faded and gritty.
It fit the game’s theme well, but thats not the theme for games like 4 and 5.
