Light the beacons...

As most (probably all) of you know, there will be a matchmaking update on June 3rd which will allow us to use the updated Halo 4 weapons. We are getting the classic 4sk BR and 7sk Carbine we’ve been asking for, and the DMR is being overpowered in all ranges except long range. 343i is implementing community-made maps into matchmaking, which prove to be better than some built-in maps which came with Halo 4. The game is improving as we know it. It may not be perfect, but we’re definitely getting somewhere. I mean, all that’s left is some classic playlists where we can have the Halo experience we’ve all been expecting from this game. All that’s missing is said classic playlists and the classic game variants that come along with them.

All we need now:

  • Game variants with no loadouts. Easily done.
  • Disabled sprint. 343i have proven to us that it’s possible seeing as Lightning CTF has it disabled.
  • We wanted a 4sk BR and 7sk Carbine. We’re very close to getting that!
  • We want to play a game where we don’t spawn with absurdly overpowered BoltShots and vehicle-combat-wrecking Plasma Pistols and sticky grenades. We can easily just spawn with a BR and frags.

My point is that we can have the Halo we want now that changes are being made while the others who enjoy the current state of Halo 4 can play the Infinity stuff. I believe now’s the time where we should all return. Tell all your friends who have left Halo that good things are happening. Halo is nothing without its community, and that’s a fact. We were stronger together. But now that we’ve split up, Halo is losing life. Now that good things are happening, we need to revive it.

On the third of June, light the beacons. It’s time for us to unite once again. It’s time for those who have left Halo to come back and finish the fight. Don’t let this be the end of the series that we’ve been playing ever since we were really young. I grew up with this series and I’m sure many of you have as well. I just can’t let this happen to our Halo. Call me dramatic, but I don’t care. This series is the only thing I play and have played for a long time. I love Halo, and I’m sure all of you do/did. If you really do/did love Halo, you’d give 343i another chance. They’re proving themselves to us. They want our trust. They may have been unsuccessful with this game at first, but they’re trying to make amends. They hired Bravo, for God’s sake.

Come on, guys. All I ask of you is one final effort.

Light the beacons.

Until there are good playlists in Halo 4 I have absolutely no reason to come back. Good weapons are nice, but they don’t fix broken and unbalanced gameplay like Infinity.

Give it a shot. Try the new weapons. Afterwards, you can return once again when classic playlists are established.

Unless elites become a playable race again I won’t bother touching my Halo 4 disc case.

Slayer Pro is returning tomorrow, that ought to be fun

You can’t possibly be serious? That’s quite a minor detail compared to everything else. I agree, it’s sad we can’t play as Elites. But I don’t believe that’s a reason to abandon a series.

And Complex is officially being moved to Big Team Infinity Slayer! Such good matchmaking updates…

When does legendary slayer come out?

Halo 4 really is improving

> When does legendary slayer come out?

No date has been confirmed yet. I’m assuming it’s around the time Halo 4’s weapons are officially updated, though.

Its part of the reason I don’t really enjoy playing halo 4 anymore. I’m sure others will just say that the “dinos” just ruined the game and say they were stronger than spartans, or ran slightly faster, etc. However elites in multiplayer was one of my favorite things about halo.

Tell me about it. This is a good month for Halo 4 to be honest.

June will be even better.

I’m really excited for the upcoming months, we don’t know what will happen in stuff like July, I don’t know if people will come back but the ones who play Halo 4 are going to be receiving a nice treat

How is the DMR going to be OP in all ranges except long range? The Light Rifle will theoretically be the better weapon in long ranges, while the BR will tear DMR users apart at short range. How exactly can the DMR still be OP after the update, I don’t understand your logic. I think the DMR will be the dominant weapon at very specific ranges, like a little more than mid-range and a little before long-range.

No point in actually playing the game, at least until a playlist is out that doesnt infuriate me beyond belief.

I know. I was one of the people who were pissed off about that. But there are more crucial elements than that.

Your return alone will help. For the sake of Halo, come back.

No, what he’s saying is that the DMR will be overpowered by other weapons, i.e. it will get beat by the LR, the BR, etc. “in all ranges except long range.” Not that it will overpower in all ranges except long range. It’s just confusing to read.

When I say it is being overpowered, I mean other weapons will overpower it.

I agree. Halo 4 is definitely improving–almost returning to Halo’s roots if one would be daring enough to say that. If we can just get the population rising–to encourage our friends to return to the game, I think it will become a far more enjoyable experience similar to what the community expects from a Halo game.

Thank you for clearing that up. I guess I should’ve made that a little clearer to read.
