Well I think the light rifle is intended to be the best out of the BR, DMR, and carbine; it’s an ordinance weapon right? But the BR does seem to be beaten by the DMR and carbine. I dunno it might get some improvements before the final game launches.
We’ll just have to see when the game comes out which is better at which range and all that next stuff. Who knows, you might not even get the light rifle until level 50 or something, and by that time you’ll be accustomed to one of the other precision weapons.
Until we can see objectively, which is better, I wouldn’t put it in your mind that one is better than the other in all categories.

Actually, it’s a loadout weapon, so it shouldn’t be too much stronger than the BR or DMR. I like it better than the BR so far. Not sure if I’m gonna use it over the DMR yet.
I’d really like to hear how it feels compared to the BR and DMR from someone who used it. I’m really curious if it’s worth using.

Ordinance? Ha. It is confirmed to be choose-able from custom loadout. But here are the drawbacks. Small clips. Acurracy from hip is not as good as the BR. Don’t worry. They are balanced very well. I have seen people destroy with the BR.
Frankly I’m not sure what I’ll end up using because I haven’t played the game yet and watching videos of people playing isn’t the same as handling it yourself.

DMR- Rocks at long range. Very accurate. Decent at med range. Inefficient at close range.
BR- Best for Med range. Long range it tends to spread too much. Decent at close range.
Carbine- Rapid fire makes for very effective close range. Decent long and med range.
Light Rifle- 3 shot burst when fired from hip. Not as accurate as the BR in med range. Has laser accuracy when scoped. (while scoped it becomes 1 shot, not 3 round burst)

Oh alright thanks for clearing that up, I haven’t been keeping up with all the Halo 4 news recently, it seems like everyday there’s something new.

I completely understand. There’s been so much news from PAX that it can be really hard to catch up.
I’ll try the LR, but I’m sticking with the BR. To me it doesn’t matter the power of the weapon, If you a better shotter, you’re going to get more kills than the n00b with the rockets
