When un-scoped does the Light rifle kill in 15 bolts or 13?
Both the BR and LR are 5 shot weapons but when I’ve been watching BR gameplay I noticed that it takes exactly 4 BR bursts to strip an opponent’s shields meaning you only have to get 1 bullet out of 3 on target to achieve a head shot/ you can graze an opponent missing 1 out of 3 bullets a couple of times and still kill in 5 bursts.
On the other hand I am yet to see a clear instance where the LR strips an enemies shields in 4 bursts. Suggesting it might take 4 and 2/3s of a burst to strip shields. Which is interesting because that would mean you would have to be 100% accurate with the LR to achieve a 5 shot.

Note how the video you linked clearly says “5 shots to kill”.

Funny how I pm you asking about this very thing since you corrected my BR frame analysis and I realize right after that you made a thread about it.
I’ve done a frame analysis for every weapon and the only weapon I’m not 100% certain about is the LR.
But… I found this video. The player gets two full LR bursts fired at him, leaving him at exactly half shields (or at least it looks like it). This is leading me to believe that it too is a 13 bolt kill.

Urrg. Just replied to your private message then noticed this. I think you are right. If the other player was zoomed in then a third of the shields would have dropped per shot but it didn’t. This seems fairly conclusive. Up to now all the gameplay I have watched involved some fairly subpar aiming and it was hard to be 100% sure of anything. I can’t believe I missed this I probably watched that gameplay 3 times.
