I need to get this off my chest:
Yesterday I decided to play Halo 5, but my REQ boosts weren’t working. No big deal I thought - I’ll just play anyway. I went ahead and jumped into a WZFF game and BAM! Not only were my boosts not working - I couldn’t access ANY REQs. Everyone else could, but I could not.
The first couple rounds I could blend in and source a decent gun from dead bodies and from scavenging dead AI. However, then I died right before the end of round 3 and was forced to panhandle BRs and other decent weaponry from teammates. “Anyone mind dropping a BR for me?” I begged. Laughing ensued as one teammate dropped a BR in a hard to reach place that resulted in me getting as close as I could, crouching, maneuvering, trying to reach the weapon. Meanwhile I look up and three Spartans are standing there cracking up and mocking me.
Later on that game I sourced a flaming, about to explode ghost, and was mocked for having to. In the final round, one teammate had a scorpion in similar shape and scoffed that it was “all mine.” He was suggesting that since it was in terrible shape that I might deserve to use it. Tears of joy and humility were about to fall. Yes, we won this match (it was Sanctum so a piece of cake), but it’s a humbling experience I’ll never forget.

The next time my reqs are locked out I’m pulling a be like marty and hiding out in the safe zone while shooting at my shadow.
Consider yourself lucky that this is the first time it’s happened to you. Reqs not working has been in the game since it launched last October. It’s nowhere near as frequent anymore, but does occasionally happen.
gunner positions are your friends in these situations. also, luckily the bad guys tend to drop guns that are pretty effective against them.

I also noticed that this kind of thing has slowed down. When it happens to me, after the game I do a hard boot to the system, it seems to work.
