I really never found The Library that hard. Normal and Heroic were easy, and for Legendary you could just use the High Speed Halo video and get achievments while you’re at it. Sure, in the original it was hard, but that was when I was less experienced. Nowadays, however, it really isn’t that bad. Especially with Bandana on 
So, just post your thoughts about why you think The Library was hard, because I really didn’t think it was.
I don’t speed run, mostly because I don’t know how
I found the Library more challenging on the original I think mostly because of the lighting being so much worse so I couldn’t really see… now I think the main hard part are the areas where you have to fight off several different waves. I’ve not tried it with bandana though.
You want my opinion of the Library. Its hell. I have a question for you. Did u speed run through the lvl on Legendary without dying and under 30 minutes? You know there are 2 achievements on that.

Somehow I got the 30 minute one on Legendary, but with a TON of deaths…
EDIT: I also used Bandanna and Boom. Unlimited Shotgun and Grenades FTW!

My suggestion, Use either, “God” Pistol, Shotgun, or Rocket. Have Bandana on, and drop Boom. Reason why you died so many times, is because you activated Boom which spreads the explosion radius basically inflicting you as well. Just use Bandana, and watch out for the second and third floor, one of the parasites have rockets. Use the magnum to take em out.
I never found it to difficult after tackling when I aged a bit. The Library gives you the tools to take care of the flood and with the bandanna skull it only makes it easier. I picked up the achievements on my second try.

it doesnt matter how much you die for the 30min cuz it adds the time from checkpoint to checkpoint so it could in theory take you even weeks to beet as long as the times you lived to the next checkpoint dont add up to more then 30min
For me, the Library is hard because of the infinite spawns in a lot of areas. I hate infinite spawns with a passion. Also, at the parts where you sit there fighting off waves of flood while you wait for Guilty Spark to return are super annoying with all of the chain reactions. And since a lot of the flood drop grenades, don’t even try throwing one, because chances are there are like fifty of them around and they will all blow up, resulting in your death even when you are far away.
I got the 30 min legendary with like 1:30 so spare…I was so close to not getting it. But the HSH really helped.
I always loved the Library. CEA’s art certainly added to what it was. And no, I never found it difficult.
The only part of the Library that I found difficult was the very last part, just before you get the Index. For some reason, I died a lot on that part.

Sounds like the Library is the level for you, due to it’s extreme lack of infinite spawns!
The level is quite difficult because as the guy above me said, a lot of the areas in the level have infinite spawns. I could get through lots of Flood, but the real problem is are those Flood forms with that fat bagsack as their head that upon getting hit, explodes and releases a bunch of Infection forms.
Two Betrayals is arguably the hardest level, so much so over the Library.
Two betrayals is one of my favourite levels in CE, don’t get me wrong, and the reason it was fun was because some parts were so difficult in that it took me five attempts to get past them. Destroying the second pulse generator, going down into the caves where several rocket flood attempt to shoot your banshee, that Zealot on one of the parallel sky bridges, and the other 1 million flood crowded on the other…with rockets.
TB caused me to mix things up a lot to compensate for the different areas, different forms of combat (air, vehicle, foot), and different enemies. The Library has the same bland areas were you could prevent the enemy from surrounding you if you moved to one of the several choke points in the level, thus making it - to me - relatively easy in comparison.

With the Unlimited ammo on thats all you need in CEA. DId it in 17.23 for my best personal record. 3 minutes shy from the best time record.
I still help many claim this achievement. It’s my favorite level in halo one

You and I did it first try. 
I remember… I think you only died once because I was hosting but other then that it was a flawless run…
