This is something I have desperately hoped for.
In Halo CE Anniversary we were given an awesome Kinect function. One that allowed us to activate a certain type of visor mode with which we could scan anything from vehicle, to weapons, to infantry.
Upon a successful scan they were added to the “Library” in the main menu. Here we could view near every model the game had along with idle animations. We could rotate and view from almost every angle.
I would like to see this return in Halo 4. With some bonus features. Especially something to the nature of being able to zoom in and out of the models.
NO
That was the one thing that pissed me the heck off in Halo CEA, Library was SO cool and it was only for kinect players, and for me when I used Kinect in CEA it was terrible for me. The voice commands didn’t really work.
If they add it for non-kinect then yes, otherwise I don’t want any more “exclusive” features because sometimes 343 dosen’t get that word
/endrage
As long as it’s NOT KINECT. -_-
I’ve never looked into what was in the Library ever, I was pissed that it was Kinect exclusive.
If something like this was to return, it wouldn’t be with Kinect, as they confirmed a while back, alongside no 3D Support, there will be no Kinect support of features in Halo 4.
Yep the Library should return imo. It was a cool feature that gave me a use for my kinect. But since the games gold, and we’ve heard nothing about it mentioned, I highly doubt that it’ll be in the game
I can understand why some would be apprehensive about Kinect. I would have bought one only recently if Microsoft has not given me one for free for the Kinect beta test.
That said I love the device and as long as I configure it when I move it to a new room it recognized my voice perfectly.
One thing I love is that it auto logs in the gamertag of the person sitting in front. Very handy since I have several gamertags on my box.
You really need an open mind. Kinect made both my Halo CE and Mass Effect 3 experience much better. And as long as it is used as an accessory, not a primary, it is excellent. Though I have found some Kinect only games to be awesome. Dance Central anybody?
Scanning on Halo CEA was awesome and I really hope to see it in the future.
If not, at the very least an entry for the Library for anything you kill/see added automatically.
Though manually scanning adds that whole “collectible” attribute to the game without making it cumbersome.
I wouldn’t mind this, as long as it doesn’t require the use of Kinect.
