library achievements help

anybody like to help me get the speed reader and that just happened achievements?

Those 2 achievements are damn near impossible. I’ve come so close to getting That Just Happened a few times, but some -Yoink- happens near the end every damn time.

Speed Reader is just impossible all around. I know there is that youtube video from RC Master, but it doesn’t work. I have no -Yoink!- idea how he got it to work, even though I’ve watched the videos several times.

Actually, although those two achievements indeed are among the harder ones in Halo Anniversary, none of the Halo Anniversary achievements can be really considered hard. And they are far from “impossible”.

Lol. Yeah, sure I believe you.

Can you be more specific? I’m about half-way finished with the 'cheevos, but it looks like Bandanna plus Grunt Funeral plus maybe Boom sounds like two-players could blast through many waves of opponents pretty quick.

I just got “Speed Reader” and i’m half way through my “That Just Happened” run, the trick is to be fast, not thorough. Keep running and shoot anything that gets in the way.

After recently finishing “Speed Reader”, I can offer you a few tips.

  1. Grenade Jumps
Watch RC Master’s guide. Those grenade jumps aren’t necessary, but they are extremely helpful. The hardest two are right at the beginning of the game, so if you mess up you can just restart the mission. Also, when you make the jumps, don’t crouch until the last second. In CE, if you crouch at the beginning of the jump, you will actually lose altitude, from what I’ve found.

  2. Skulls
Bandanna only. Boom may seem like a good idea since you can clear out more enemies with 'nade spam, but having Boom on could ruin the entire thing. The Carrier forms already wreck you if they get right up to you, and with Boom on you have to get much farther away, and you take a much higher amount of damage. That, and your grenades will already do enough damage to clear corridors and rooms, you don’t need Boom to make them effective.

  3. Checkpoints
The best thing about this achievement is that if you die, it will reset the clock to where it was at your last checkpoint. Example: If you’re at 15:00 and get a checkpoint, then go for a couple more minutes then die, you will go back 15:00. You can use this to your advantage by reverting to your last save if you mess up. Say you make it through an area, but you only have one bar of health left. Odds are you could revert and try for a better run, shaving off a few seconds and coming out with more health.

  4. Weaponry
Really, the only thing you’ll need is a shotgun and frag grenades. The shotgun, even on legendary, is still incredibly effective, and grenades can clean corridors quickly, especially if you have Bandanna on. I would definitely not recommend plasmas. They have a longer fuse time, and sticking enemies can be very dangerous. The Flood are fast, and I would much rather have a grenade at the feet of one sprinting at me, not on his face.

That’s about all I have to offer. If you don’t want to do the grenade jumps, I would still recommend looking up some guides. There are places in the mission where you can hide and avoid enemies while the doors are opening, and this can save you a lot of trouble. Just remember to grab a shotgun, put on Bandanna, and use checkpoints to your advantage. Good luck!
