Librarian connected Chief to the domain

I am sure she connected him to the domain. He can communicate with the Diadict in a way that Cortana could not pick up. Also forerunners could not access the domain until their first metamorphosis thing. I think she did the metamorphosis thing to the chief. Also the Diadict got his immunity to the composer from a metamorphosis thingy

Discuss: How awesome am I for figuring this out?

Also discuss: What this might mean for the chief, and other explanations for what happened.

It would make halo 5 interesting because he could know where forerunner tech is.

The domain was destroyed

Interesting hypothesis. I thought only the connections to the Domain were destroyed and it’s still out there, somewhere? Whatever it is.

This should probably move to the Halo universe forum… you’re likely to find much more feedback there!

Like Spartan said, the Domain was destroyed.

That’s the job of the Janus Key.

Installation 4 was destroyed. Took a few years to make a new one. Pretty sure the remaining huraguchkn/engies/biocomputers, you know those things, could have been rebuilding it. Also the main problem with the domain was that it was erased and contact to it was cut off. I don’t thing it was really destroyed. Like you can’t destroy radio, you can just block it or break receivers and transmitters.

It was a Precursor creation, the Halos destroy Precursor creations, therefore it was destroyed.

But the domain isn’t a physical thing. There aren’t really even physical connections to it. Like radio. You can break my radio or block the signal, but you can’t eliminate the possibility of radio communication unless you are actively blocking it forever.

It was still destroyed, no changing it

It was still based on Neural Psychics, a concept created by the Precursors, like everything they’ve made. It got destroyed, if you have a problem with that take it up with 343i and Greg Bear.

Comparing the domain to a radio would mean you would compare a forerunner’s level of tech to 1400’s humans and current human’s tech to caveman tech, neither are smart enough make another radio just like how neither forerunners or humans are smart enough to make another domain.

I can never keep up with Halos canon… which tale told this? I’d be annoyed if I missed it in one of the novels I actually read.

Silentium. It is essentially the reason the Ur-Didact went insane and immediately tried Composing all of Humanity in Halo 4. He was supposed to connect to the Domain to meditate, but since it was made by the Precursors and the Halos destroy Precursor artifacts, as shown in Halo: Cryptum, the Ur-Didact got royally -Yoinked!- over and was left alone to his genocidal thoughts for over 100,000 years.

He played tic-tac-toe in his cryptum. That’s why we never see the full interior. It is covered in scratch marks from 100,000 years of boredom.

One possible solution for him hearing the Didacts voice is maybe the librarian imprinted John with the Didacts imprint.
