Hi all as i know halo will be more open world but if theres one thing i love about previous games its the ability to go back and replay any of the levels… will this be a option in halo infinite?! Or will it literally be a case of having to restart the game and play through the whole story each time?! Thanks

This is a great question that I also want answered. I would like the option of both honestly. If this semi-open world is as special as they are making it then I don’t want to just leave it whenever I am done with the story. At the same time I want to have the ability to go back through and beat it again sometimes only specific missions. Hopefully closer to launch they explain how this works.

Maybe how Destiny 2 does the replay mission option.

Possibly. We know the Campaign isn’t exactly linear so doing it will require some changes to menus/options. It is quite possible specific missions actually have the standard format while more in-world content won’t be necessary after completion?

Yeah i agree im thinking it might be like metro exodus?.. not sure if you have played that but its like semi open world and if you click on missions its like split so each mission select is split down to each individual place you’ve been to and explored so maybe this big open world type ring will be split into sections that progresses each part of the story aswell if that makes sense… but i feel this is the problem with 343 they have not give us enough information about halo infinite theres loads we need to know still before its release!

Never played a Metro Exodus game through. It is true there is a lot not being released to us in terms of information however at the same time that means we have more exciting news coming up until launch and more.
While Halo Infinite’s various non-linear and dynamic elements sound a lot like what you’ll find in an open-world game, the developers at 343 Industries has stated that Halo Infinite isn’t “fully open world,” but rather a series of open and expansive levels connected together by the game’s narrative. In other words, think of the game like a Halo version of Metro Exodus.
As players traverse each level, they can expect to encounter many different sub-biomes like swamps, highlands, and war-torn “deadlands” that were devastated by previous battles. We can also expect caves, caverns, abandoned structures, shipwrecks, and other points of interest that will contain interesting collectibles like audio logs and written notes or messages. Presumably, these collectibles will provide context about what happened on Zeta Halo before the events of the game. 343 Industries has confirmed that players will be able to return to previous levels if they want to explore and look for missed collectibles.

I do think it will be a mix of Metro Exodus and Halo 3 ODST style. With clue style. You can trigger the mission and replay it again like a flashback. And maybe we can explore more of the ring world’s continent, example snowy place, desert and jungle, like exodus?
Sorry for my English.
I would imagine there would be a level replay select in the menu. allowing you to play certain missions and then upon completing them, taken back to the menu, or even possibly put into the state you were in when you finished that mission for the first time and then placed back into the world (Or at the very least a default 343 created state)
