Level cap at 70?!

I have bought the standard edition of Halo 4, not even aware of a limited edition.
After a couple days of play (actual game time), which isn’t much for an online FPS these days I’ve reached level 70 AND the end of my Halo journey so it seems.
I can’t imagin why 343I would create an XP based ranking system for multiplayer, which challenges people to play as much as they can, to cap it at such an easy to reach level.

All this does is frustrate a lot of dedicated Halo fans !

  • The xp challenge is gone after a couple days of play.
  • All challenges and commendations become virtually worthless.
  • You have to look envious to people that bought the LE.
  • You have to look envious at people that live outside of Europe and got the
    free e-mail.

If I had known 343 would give 60! extra levels and 3 times as many specializations with the LE, I would have bought it! But normally games just give some extra weapon skins or an extra helmet on the LE, so I dont even pay attention to it.

I’m already looking for a Halo replacement to slide into my xbox but what I really want is to just start moving up the xp ladder again.

How can I break through level 70 and start having fun again with Halo, like so many others that where perhaps a bit more fortunate or better informed??

Help me out!

You don’t need to continually gain XP to enjoy a game of Halo.

Call microsoft and complain you did not receive a specialization code. They’ll give you one.

It’s strange, noone noticed that being capped at SR-70 it’s excatly the same thing of being at SR-130?

I can understand only those that wanted a particular specialization but can’t get it becouse not LE. All those complaining about “I can’t get my XP, buhuh” are just a shame.

You answer your own question; lvl 70 is not the same as lvl 130 because it gives you 6 extra specializations.

Yo slick i know i see you play all the time with Vato :stuck_out_tongue: hes on my friends list.

Ranking system comming soon but i’m stuck at 130 now at it gets bored quick.
Cuz the exp you earn is for nothing… its not realy that big of a deal but still i know what you mean…

I’m busy getting some codes for my channel give away. but if i got 1 ill send you a message on XBL…

friend, in your post you just complained about not being able to get exp. Not a single word about missing some specialization in particular.

And at 130 it will be the same, no more exp to rank up. So will you complain again at this point?

If only that was true. If you call Microsoft they send you to these forums.

Friend, I did comment on missing 6 specializations but this forum is thread is not about being right. The exp system is in there for a reason and should be equal to all. Ofcourse it will be limited at some point (130?, whatever) but at least it should be harder to get to.

Otherwise they should have just went for a skill based ranking system.
The reason for 343 to put a ranking system in is to make it more interesting for the players. So if you ask me they should fully exploit such a system.

I’m not saying its no fun to play Halo regardless of xp, but they made it a part of it so they should do it right!

Go to the “Offical spec thread” and ask343 to give you a code. If you can’t wait, i have an extra code in case of a trade.

As a European gamer, i’m pretty pissed off about the fact that no one cared to mention this little detail pre-launch.

Even if i wasn’t doomed to be SR70 for the rest of my life, 130 cap is still waaaay too small. I mean, i played Reach actively since launch until the release of Halo 4 and i got to Hero rank, which is nowhere near the max rank. I know you could forget about ranks all together because Halo 4 is just a damn good game but that feeling that you’re working towards a reward that comes after each rank makes it that much more motivating. Like you said, commendations and challenges lose their meaning very early.

Research things before you buy them. It was common knowledge that not all specializations would be available for SE purchases at launch.

All specs will be released…eventually, with or without the spec code.
Lastly, try playing for fun sometimes.

Yes it was common knowledge because 343 said they were going to release it. But what they didn’t say is that we are going to screw over the people that bought the LE and release the Specializations less then a month later for free. I sorry but if I would have know that they were going to do something like this I would have bought the SD Halo 4. Its not even far in any type of way that we the people that love Halo so much that we bought the LE to get screwed over buy 343 and Microsoft.

Halo 4 is a complex game. As far as i know, the only game 343 made was Halo:CE wich was also bugged as hell, it doesn’t surprise me this quantity of problems. All games on realese are glitchy, see Far Cry 3 and Black Ops 2.

there’s a difference between “not all specializations avaible” and
“screw you, europeans, if you aint rich enough for the LE, you get stuck at SR-70 but dont worry, you get the codes on the IDON’TKNOW of IWON’TTELLYOU, so please be patient and let aaaall the exp-points get lost until then”. it’s just not fair. it is not at all. we paid the same amount of cash for that game, but we get just about 70% of the game until we get what we paid for. but when will that day come ? maybe this month ? or the next year ? but until then…seriously, it aint fun seeing rouges, trackers, pathfinders & so on running around while you are limited to operator and wetwork.

I paid 100 bucks for the Standard Edition of this game this game.

Let’s keep it simple. I don’t need to go through a massive research just to buy a game. I’m not talking about the launch or LE privileges, specializations are done. Everybody who didn’t get the code can complain or in my case, deal with it since i live in Europe and we didn’t get the code. To my knowledge, 343 isn’t planning on releasing the specializations in any other form. That’s atleast what i made out of bsangel’s response directly to me when i asked her about it. I still have a grain of hope that Europe will get the specializations one day.

Again, showing a lack of research. ALL specializations will be released everywhere…eventually. They will be opened piecemeal for anyone when certain milestones are reached.
Also, ONLY people who bought LE were guaranteed to get access to the specializations in a specific timeframe (aka, immediately). EVERYONE else was going to have to wait until those milestones were reached, however 343 or MS decided to reward those players who played in the first 2 weeks with FREE codes. At no point was this something they had to do. That’s specifically why it says it’s a FREE GIFT from MS.

Anyone who bought the game on the 21st of November and didn’t buy LE? They also get to wait until 343 releases addition specs, same as Europe. People who get the SE version for Christmas? They wait like everyone else. Blame greedy European resellers for the lack of European codes. They apparently demanded EXCLUSIVE rights to Specialization access for X amount of time, which is why no one in Europe got to take part in the 2 week giveaway gift.
