Level and Unlocks reset randomly

Hi! I bought an Xbox One with Halo 5 last week and have been loving it, but after being kicked out of a lobby due to my crappy internet connection, my rank has been reset to 1 and all of my unlocks are no longer there.

Is this a bug? How can I go about fixing this?

If there’s no fix, how can I prevent this from happening again?

EDIT - After looking at my profile here, it seems all of my stuff was not lost. It’s just not transferring over to my console. Can this be caused by a poor internet connection?
