You are not the only one. I did finally finish the achievement, but I had to really force myself to think about it. I think it can be used too often. I hope it plus Spartan Charge do not make a return.
It’s a strategical ability. It’s quite easy to use in certain situations.

For me, it’s a way to quickly traverse across a map from one point to another, or to make a hasty escape (while bailing out of an aerial vehicle).

It’s also good for really hard jumps.
Level 148 and I have zero ground pound kills. Since day 1 I thought it was stupid and gimmicky and still do and I refuse to use it. No tears from me if it isn’t in Halo 6 and if anything it should be removed to get back to what FPS game should be.

I don’t think you fully understand the concept of ground pound.Plus, a real FPS game? Dude, you are a gold 1 with a 0.57 KD. You are a casual. You really have no room to talk.
I mean I’m just sayin bro. You need a valid argument.

If the Sprint animation is removed I’m 100% in agreement… But as long as Sprint is in Halo (I highly doubt it’s going anywhere… let’s face it… Ugh) I think Spartan charge or a form of it needs to be in to avoid the whole double melee thing like Reach and 4 had. The idea isn’t bad, it just needs tweaking for sure. Ground pound I’m indifferent on. I could care less either way if it’s in, but if it stay it needs to be you actually have to hit the person to kill/damage them. I absolutely can’t stand and frankly I’m getting tired of being killed by the guy and they are like 4 feet away from me lol

Some people just really bug me sometimes ¯_(ツ)_/¯
All you have to do is just learn to use it, like we all have with any ability, weapon, etc that’s been added to the game. They are have their own purpose and time to use. (some people are just better than others at using it)

Works good if there’s a whole bunch of enemies clumped together too, like runners protecting a flag…even if you don’t get the kills, you knock the shields off several and push them back a bit and your team can clear them up.
I rely heavily on it I feel it rewards those who hold the high ground and also counterbalances being visible to everyone when you take higher ground. My kills are not very reflective of how much I use it due to how hard it is to nail someone (which results in a kill) as opposed to hurting them. Hurting them is fine with me though, honestly I double kill with carbine after ground pounding 2 guys about an hour ago. It’s similar to the way melee kills cut into plasma rifle/pistol kills. Sometimes I get double kills with it though and that’s always rewarding. I like using it when people try to chase me around a corner. There doesn’t seem to be any splash from jump height, but a direct hit is usually as powerful as a sniper rifle round (depletes shield + some health). It’s a bit of a guessing game, you have to see opponents and then you have about a second to figure out what they’re doing and where they are running.
Time for tips and info:
-full ground pound damage can be attained by jumping, then pounding from a height of about 10’, there doesn’t seem to be any additional damage after that
-at full damage height, the small circle is the kill zone and the large circle is the partial damage zone
-the damage is always the same regardless of how long you charge it, so the extra time is just good for waiting or planning
-try using it in conjunction with lifts. Walk into a lift, boost into what seems like a good direction, then charge and pound
-you can boost out of it, back onto the platform you just jumped from
-some levels are exceptional for using ground pound, the best is probably Attack on Sanctum in Warzone. Use the lifts in/around the temple and in the overwatch too.
-train yourself with “death from above.” The extra speed and faster charge time makes it far easier to get kills.
-try using it in forerunner buildings with those steep, 45 degree angle corridors. The corridors on the back side of the spire on Apex 7 are an example.
Hope this helps!
I just checked Halo Tracker and I’m in the top 1% for ground pounds. I feel like people don’t use it to its potential, it’s a easy kill if you have high ground.
I’ll admit it’s gimmicky, however if you don’t want to waste bullets and need to kill multiple enemies below, it can be very useful. Just my opinion

it’s really easy i’m surprised you’ve only gotten 13
It’s very situational, and I only ever use it when I’m at the top of a ramp or staircase and I know someone’s coming from below. It’s very useful for example in the Warzone garages, armories, and the Monument on Noctus.
