Even to go as far as death threats and doxxing? I don’t think so
Now who tf said THAT was a good idea???
no one adn yet its the reason r/halo was closed down and folks are doing it cause they think it will result in the fix coming sooner spider alert it wont
lmao that’s awesome. Fusion coil kills just feel so -Yoink!- good. I always end up laughing in sheer delight after landing a good skewer hit too. Love that.
It IS gameplay. If you can use it in-game it’s gameplay. By the most basic definition Cosmetics ARE GAMEPLAY.
not at all. The cosmetics have no impact on gameplay, its not like in Halo 5 where you buy requisitions for their Warzone mode
Music has no impact on gameplay either, but I turned it off because besides the menu music when you first boot it up, I think the match music is bad. I think music matters a lot for a game despite it not directly affecting gameplay. Yet studios spend lots of money getting that right.
UI is literally tied together in job titles with UX which means User Experience. Why would that be? It’s not directly gameplay.
Cosmetics are valued such that people are spending real money on them. Clearly they matter is some way. So this constant message that people say that “oh well, it’s not gameplay, it’s just cosmetics” just doesn’t work really for me. (Or others, because again, people are spending real money at this moment on them)
you don’t HAVE to spend money on cosmetics to PLAY the game, they don’t IMPACT gameplay
If you buy an armor coating that gives your spartan extra health or a weapon skin that makes your gun shoot faster, then it will impact gameplay.
Being a different shade of red or having a shiny nameplate that you can see in the post game lobby doesn’t count.
I mean I guess you could choose to miss my point entirely, so whatever. Yeah my nameplate doesn’t give me a banshee on call or extra BR damage. Yup. Agreed.
Reddit should not represent the halo community lol, everyone knows reddit is an utter cesspool.
Besides the internet never changes…
When your whole team is playing only to complete challenges to unlock armor, and ignoring objectives does that impact gameplay?
I gave up playing because I kept getting stuck with people who did not care about objectives.
There was a post on here claiming that 343 wasn’t listening to people because changes weren’t made in ten seconds, basically. I really hate this community
Feedback analysis and course correction takes time with any complex systems.
I was delighted when they rolled out the new XP model based on number of games played with diminishing returns, challenges are still a grind but at least I can progress through the battlepass. I feel this was a well targeted change that was rolled out quickly. The problem I see is that many challenges are too dependant on RNG - can’t get chopper cannon kills except on vehicle maps and only if the chopper spawns, and it’s on the same tier as 3 Ranked Wins - grind enough games and I will get them.
Really I’ve always been about the split screen and LAN play, and while customs are buggy with some very irritating bugs during beta, I know with time it will be fixed. (Filed a report two weeks ago about a consistent controller sign in glitch).
Yes that does impact gameplay. But people have been doing that since Reach as well. Heck, even since halo 3 where achievement hunting and the handful of armor related challenges were a thing.
But that still doesn’t mean buying a red color palette for your AR changes anything.
That’s fine, and accurate, but I have never seen it this bad before. They had firefight and such for grinding out commendations. It’s definitely not unheard of, but never been this bad (unless it was worse in 5 which I did not play)
5 was toxic because you literally can’t compete in Competitive Warzone without paying real money for requisition packs.
I’ll take this over that any day
And this is different how?
Not everyone wants to play the objective in the first place. Sometimes I just want to break into the enemy base and be a nuisance because that is humorous. Doesn’t matter what game mode I do that in.
If cosmetics are so important, shouldn’t people trying to obtain them be applauded?
Not all of us that are not happy with Halo are toxic you know.
My point was cosmetics are impacting gameplay with the way 343i implemented the challenges to unlock them.
You and everyone else can play the game however you want, my point was the system is encouraging people to focus on challenges instead of game objectives.
Forcing people to play OBJ game modes when they don’t want to is another poor decision on 343i part.
