Well I’ve been playing since launch. First off I enjoy the multiplayer I find it fun and fast paced. Tweeks are needed but I think the core game is great. With that said the state of vehicles is really really bad compared to past games. Some of the problems I see immediately are:
- Lack of Vehicles
I don’t understand how the 4th entry into the series has substantially less than the previous games. They had an excellent opportunity to implement the elephant again along with the mantis while maintaining the vehicles from reach. Wishful thinking but I think the pelican could’ve found a use too (but that’s a stretch)
- Durability of vehicles
Driving in a warthog is a moving double kill for the other team. Plasma pistols as part of the loadout along with stickies just decimate most vehicles if they even slip up for a second. Either make these found throughout the map again or I think vehicles need to be upped in the durability department.
- Vehicle Balance
Seems like the slightest bump send a ghost rolling or a warthog to do a barrel roll. Don’t know what is up with that but it is frustrating.
Thoughts? Solutions?
I’ve seen people claiming that vehicles are a step-up from past Halo’s
the lack of them though, is still a problem… IMO
> 2. Durability of vehicles
This is the main problem with halo 4/reach.
The chain gun hog is a double kill on wheels, gauss cannon is a more agile tank. chain gun needs to have bloom, overheating, or shooting BBs removed.
vehicle combat is pointless in this game, the only one that does anything is the mantis because it is just a sponge that majority of people run away from.
Having stickies and plasma pistols as part of your loadout is the stupidest thing in H4.
I don’t understand how there is a lack of a lot of things in this game.

Agree completely. I can go to bomb someone in a banshee, hit right next to them and they walk away with full shields. If I’m anywhere remotely close to the ground I’m half dead. I also really don’t like how PP are a part of the loadouts. As it’s been said before, it makes using a warthog useless on most maps.
Vehicles have been absolutely destroyed in this game due to the availability of Plasma Pistols and Plasma Grenades. See a Warthog coming your way? No worries, just jump aside, EMP it, and toss two stickies at it!
I heard that setting the Player Damage and Damage resistance helps out the vehicles A LOT, making them as strong as the past vehicles, like the Warthog, for example, without affecting the PvP game play. Maybe 343 should put that in.
And maybe 343 should make it so 3-4 stickies can take out a Warthog, two’s just ridiculous.
Nobody should be able to kill a warthog with starting weapons.
There are already far too many power weapons on maps due to ordinance drops.
If your team can control the power weapons and the vehicles then you deserve to win.
The only way to combat a vehicle with starting weapons should be concentrated fire from the whole team.
