Its all in the title. The purpose of this thread is to conglomerate the ideas that people have into one location, and to determine which idea’s are most consistent among everyone. I will be dividing the list into two categories: “Absolute essentials” and “Would be nice.” They should be pretty self explanatory. I will NOT be basing this list on who uses the most capital letters, or who posts most frequently. I WILL be basing this list on which ideas I see represented most frequently. Weapon re-balancing will be my only addition, and that’s only in an attempt to keep the DMR vs BR debate at a minimum.
So, what do you want guys?
Absolute essentials:
Weapon re-balancing (and thats enough about the DMR)
DMR is fine. Adapt. Halo needs fast Halo CE like kill times to keep up with COD. Halo was founded on strong single shot weapons and the DMR is far more halo like than the BR ever was.

Precisely the type of comment I was attempting to avoid.
This is just a futile hope but I hope it addresses campaign.
Absolute essentials:
-Campaign theater
-fixing these marine AI issues. Halo 4 marines come really close to being the best but they still have fatal flaws, like spending too much time shooting at dead bodies
-nerfing Easy difficulty. Really, the whole point of Easy is for the player to be a god. Yet I constantly find myself getting overwhelmed and vehicles (excluding Banshees) are hard as hell to retrieve without a plasma pistol. In my line of work (AI collecting, manipulating, exploring), I can’t stand dealing with so much pressure. It was painful in Reach and it seems even more irritating in Halo 4, especially now that the enemies can supercombine. That ought to be disabled on Easy
Would be nice:
-Campaign scoring. I like to know for sure if I have landed my headshots
-giving Elites unique abilities (not AAs) to set their ranks apart. Really, only 1 Elite in the entire game jumps at you and switches weapons (storm rifle and energy sword). Every other Elite is a clone with different shielding.
-fix the melees for Elites and Hunters. Hunters and some Elites do turning melee but it doesn’t do any damage. Either get rid of it or make them do damage
-Hunter bond brother relationship. No this doesn’t have to be ‘berserk and charge, abandoning the use of gun’. But there really ought to be a visual cue that the Hunters are linked
-‘revert to second last checkpoint’ included in the options. Dying 5 times can be limited if you don’t have a hard drive, an edge to jump off of, or explosives to blow yourself up. And sometimes, it doesn’t work. The option would nullify all these issues
-Need to fix join in progress so that it is either toggable and players have an incentive to leave it on, or fix it so that people stop entering into uneven games, or games that are almost over without a fair chance of getting a good rating. THis can not be in place for any kind of trueskill, rank based, system.
-There needs to be some sort of recognizable incentive to stick through to the end of a game, or failing that a real punishment for quitting. I wouldn’t recommend reach’s system for the simple fact that it couldn’t distinguish between ranked games, unranked, and firefight, and it had an awfully low limit compared to how many absolutely horrid games there were. Maybe a ban until the game you’re in ends? Would make sense, but there’d have to be a clear distinction between being banned and quitting.
-File share must be fixed from what I hear, and forge customizability could be easily improved upon.
-Friendly fire will have to be turned on at some point. It doesn’t feel like halo without it, and it improves upon the ingame tension greatly.
-Thruster pack needs a slight buff; the only reason so many people use it, myself included, is it feels good to have.
-Cloak needs to be more visible. I like that it doesn’t take away from actually having a radar, but still…
Map variety needs to be improved upon. Again, this is something easily fixed.
I’m not sure how this would affect framerates, but I’d prefer it if ingame objects lasted longer.
-Lastly, ordanance is too common in infinity slayer. Not everyone should get the benefit of a free power weapon.
Proximity voice. Halo used to be a social game. It was the best thing about Halo 2. I wish this topic got more coverage. Getting together with a bunch of friends and being able to talk to the other team was the best. Now it’s like wer’e just playing against AI.
The Short List [Mulitplayer] - Stop games from starting with uneven teams - Buff BR up to DMR TTK (if there is even a difference between the two…honestly I think most of the ‘DMR is OP’ complaints come from those who fell head over heels in love with the H3 BR and expect it to dominate all other weapons and can’t seem to adapt their play-style to the H4 BR) - Buff AR, Suppressor, Pistol, other mid-range weapons (as of now a BR/DMR can best all those weapons at mid-close range…IMO if you get into a close range firefight with a Pistol user and you have a DMR you should get destroyed unless you outsmart your opponent…as it stands now it’s difficult to best a mediocre player with a Pistol when they have a BR/DMR at mid/close range) - Take the Mantis out of Ragnarok CTF
Would be nice to have EXP in playlists…you know, like they did in Halo 3. It’s things like that, that keep you playing more. Oh and also I want to be able to see players who are partied together. Don’t like the fact that you can’t tell if you’re going against a full team like you could before.
I think join in progress should stay… it’s a good clutch system, but it needs to be toned down if people are constantly quitting. I swear to god, every 4v4 slayer I’m in there are at least 14 players who’ve played by the end of it.

If you open the File Browser it gives Temp History.
What needs fixing:
Matchmaking preferences needs to be added (Good Connection, Skill, Regional)
Join in Progress needs to become a Matchmaking preference
Ghosts need to be removed from Ragnarok
More predictable weapon spawns > Respawn at specific time
BR needs to become a 4sk
Carbine needs an accuracy & kill time buff
Unzoom when shot
Race, VIP need to be added to custom games
More custom games options on current gametypes (ie CTF auto pick-up & flag dropping options)
Removal of the XP cap
Ability to see parties in pre-game lobby
Remove ability to leave the pre-game lobby
Those in red are the ones I find to be the most important to the success of the game, and would personally improve my experience.
The only update I can think of is fix the restrictions. I’m getting tired of flying a banshee, having little room and be forced to see the boundary’s in the most stupid places. Even the forge editing area needs sorting.
Unzooming from being shot stagnates a lot of games and give far too much advantage to those who have position over you. At most it should only apply to power weapons.

I disagree, much of the imbalance in Halo has come from the fact that people leave and no one can join. Seriously. I remember every game of Invasion in Halo: Reach being extremely easy because the moment the other team realise me and my friends are in a party they just quit except one or two guys.
