One of my favorite part about Halo 2 / 3 [Also CE:A] was skulls. I felt that in reach and ODST, the absence of skulls just made the campaign feel like less… I don’t know like… mystical?
If anyone remembers in Halo 3 when everyone was looking for IWHBYD Skull so everrrryone could get Hayabusa (Most overused armor ever lol), That was a cool looking for it. The best part was with how hidden it was (If you don’t remember you had to jump through the rings in the same order of some of the notes as the “halo song”. I felt that Halo CE:A was missing that whole hidden aspect, minus the Bandanna skull. Data pads in reach just really didn’t do it for me. I don’t look for data pads when I go through play-throughs in reach, however every time i play halo 3’s campaign or halo 2’s i go lurk around for the skulls.
ANYWAYS, What’s your opinion on skulls, like em? Hate em? Don’t care?
We NEED them or something else that acts EXACTLY the same. It keeps the campaign interesting even after you’ve completed it 10000000000000000 times. Plus, it’s fun to waste hours with friends just finding them.
Word man, in Halo 3 I was a wee youngin’ so I just looked at skull guides. But in CE:A I acutally found them all with my buddy that I was play splitscreen with. It really is a good feeling when you find a skull.
Yes, yes, yes.
Skulls add so much to every aspect of the game. I do believe we are in need of some new ones though. Perhaps some skulls that skulls that make the gameplay more realistic? Vehicles have limited ammo etc.

Actually that is a really good idea…
I dunno I wish there was more vehicle skulls. Like having your warthog ESPLODE whenever you hit something like a wall or a rock. Would create some challenging races and such.
Dude I feel your pain. Skulls were my saving grace for Halo 3 as I did not have online play at the time. I spent countless hours looking for them and when I found them I absolutely was in love. I think I tried every different combination of skulls and worked my way up to the mythic difficulty, which was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done on my xbox.
I do miss the times in Halo 3 where me and my buddy would hop on Co-Op campaign and find all the skulls when we first got the game. Oh… those were the good 'ol days. Same with Halo 2. I miss that game more than anything.

Exactly!
Also I enjoyed the forge hunting for skulls in the Mythic maps.
