Let's talk infection

So I know some people don’t play infection but what would you like to see in infection for future halos i find myself playing WAY to much infection (just check my service record lol) but here’s what I would like to see for all future infection game modes

  • No active camo on alphas - Test maps so glitches do not make it into matchmaking (round 2 and 4 of Black Friday are perfect examples) - This is less 343s problem but forgers please do not make a small room with only one entrance it creates more dead rounds - An official leaderboard would be pretty cool the one we have now is not very good as far as moderation goes and is not an official leaderboard - More maps - Keep ads on energy sword it really helps infected get survivors

First one especially. All it does is encourage alphas to camp off spawn and that’s really frustrating as a survivor. Alpha Zombies does a pretty good job of resolving this which is one of the reasons I prefer it. The only other big complaint I have is that survivors and zombies shouldn’t be able to trade. It’s really annoying and makes close range combat too risky.

Yeah but that is mostly just connection a lot of the time and that’s out of 343 and forgers hands. I said the first one because with camo I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ran around a corner and at point blank range shot a crouched alpha with shotgun for him to get tickled and kill me it’s basically giving them overshields lol. I think I’d rather see alphas get vorpal talon

Absolutely. There have been countless times where I melee’d the infected before they struck me with their sword and yet they kill me first. I know Swords have priority over regular melee, but it’s not right when you got the first hit before they can react.

You reminded me that there is one thing they can fix as far as trading goes melee trades for some reason it happens often and only when I’m a zombie I hit a guy and it says we traded except he got a melee kill it’s wierd but I sit there and think hmm a fist beats a sword 343? Makes sense

You don’t need ADS if you just have one red reticule range for the sword lunge. I’d actually like it if they kept the weapons off the maps like they do in Alpha Zombies.

It’s just you dinged his shoulder honestly. Which was it’s intereses purpose make it harder to see and hit them. I stopped playing infection when it came out because there would be too many rounds where the 2 infected can’t kill anyone until the last minute of the match and at that point it’s too late. I’m not bit on matchmaking infection but I feel that camo was a good touch

I can guarantee I’ve hit them dead on and nothing happens and it’s not just the shotgun that doesn’t work against them I have thrown a grenade and they were sitting next to it and it did not kill them I’ll go look for it and will edit this post with a link if I find it

I understand some weapons like the Hydra it encourages those people who camp in those rooms with one entrance to grab it become last man with unlimited ammo and just spray at the door it’s annoying but precision weapons and snipers are fine I’d like to see rockets go away but aside from that I see no real harm done
Oh and I guess your right about the sword but I just hope it doesn’t turn out like halo 3 infection where shotgun outranges the sword drastically and they give them pistols

No vehicle or weapon respawns

Alpha Flood much stronger with a puny shield capacity

use of ventilation (allowing for players to climb up into vents and be stealthy rather than guns blazing)

Either a mode that lasts longer or where Survivors need to reach a certain point to escape

All this can be done in custom games but seeing in as an actual infection variant would be awesome. It’s hard to get enough people to play it with custom games freezing after every match no one wants to wait 15+ minutes for the game to unfreeze.

I agree with everything except alphas stronger with better Shields and infected grabbing weapons. This is coming from someone who, in matchmaking, got killedkil an infected with a ce magnum (yes this really happened) I think it is fixed now but that would be annoying

The way I’ve got it setup is Alphas are stronger but can’t use weapons or vehicles so they rely on their strength speed and poor camo for a bit of stealth. Power weapons being non req variants with very little ammo. CE magnum I wouldn’t include as it’s too strong for what it is.

I feel like they shouldn’t have active camo and just have a vorpal talon because being able to boost twice would help them but not be OP they need to be one shot headshot with precision weapons so you don’t have tanks walking at you. And maybe give them a speed boost and all people infected by alphas get regular sword and a tiny speed boost

No req variants will be used only base power weapons for example a standard sword or rocket launcher. Whispered truth with a single mag would be okay but most req variants are too strong and just shouldn’t be considered. As for vehicles they are pretty big and clunky while powerful they are a death sentence. Alpha flood works best without the ability to use vehicles or weapons so it relies on its strength instead. I think poor camo is okay as the infection cloud still gives them away and any movements they make but it still allows them a few seconds of stealth before a Survivor eventually notices.

I focused primarily on UNSC weapons with a very sparse amount of Covenant weapons on my Infection maps. Vehicles I do use req variants as they can fit the maps theme better while still being easily overrun. While some weapons aren’t great for the Flood (regular energy sword) it doesn’t mean it won’t be useful for a Survivor out of ammo. Which is what the mode I described tries to do as you will inevitably run out and be overwhelmed. I typically play the mode with an infinite timer with the score going up by one for each second you Survive. But scoring really doesn’t matter.
