Has anyone noticed how absolutely horrid the physics in Halo 5 are? This becomes extremely evident whenever you use a vehicle or are playing custom games that involve physics in any manner. How has Halo 5 gone so far backwards with its physics engine?
Apart from janky Mongoose physics (wheels clipping into the ground causing frequent snagging and tipping) I haven’t noticed many physics related issues. Which ones are you experiencing?

Jump into custom games and play anything that involves physics. A good one to try is Jenga, (I have it on my profile) it’s horribly glitchy and does a good job of showing this engine’s glaring flaws. The only game with worse physics is Halo CE.
To be fair this game engine was never designed to be a hardcore physics simulator. Physics take up a lot of processor time so you can’t have to much of it all the time.

But the fact still stands that every other iteration of Halo save for the first game (in some cases CE even does better, which is sad) fares better when it comes to handling physics. There’s so many issues with Halo 5’s that it’s honestly not even funny.
And processor time?
I thought this was supposed to be a “next gen” game.

All that processor time is loading up by those pretty, pretty graphics that make everything look like plastic.

Honestly I went and looked at Reach again recently and it looks better graphic-wise than Halo 5 in a lot of ways.

Halo 4 had bungies engines. Halo5 is from scratch I believe. All my vehicles flip easily. Even had my ghost flip a few times just from splattering a spartan lol. Not to mention the AI in 4 are noticeably superior to halo5s. Seems we all paid for a downgrade and not the next gen Halo.

Why they would throw out an engine that had been perfected for over a decade baffles me. It’s not like it needed to be redone.

Maybe they needed a new one for Xbox one? Regardless I bet they were to cocky to take notes from bungie while building the new one.

If it didn’t work on Xbox One then why do we have MCC…
The vehicle physics are pretty funky in this game. Nothing an update can’t fix.

Probably BC it was a remake of an already existing game and not sure but it was probably a bungie engine and if they did make a new engine for that they probably just copy and pasted it all from the originals lol
Yep. Some of my custom gametypes have been partially broken from Reach and 4 to Halo 5 because of Warthog, Mongeese and Ghost physics.
It’s pretty terrible actually, sooo many ridiculously clips have already come out.
Definitely the most BS splatters I’ve ever dealt with, which is saying a lot considering they were basically poison to the touch in H1.
My #1 most BS splatter of any Halo happened here: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Jaymzzzz/video/13790571
I don’t even bother any more, only ground-pounds… should have done ground pound
Agreed. There is no real center of gravity or weight to vehicles.

That is one of the most infuriating things in this game. Seriously, that wouldn’t kill a regular person, let alone a 1000lbs super soldier.

Not just vehicles but the frag grenade physics are garbage the plasma and splinter aren’t so bad but its not even worth it to throw a frag
