I have been with halo since the begging, and since halo 3 multiplayer has been huge, blowing up when Reach came out. Since then I remember playing hours upon hours of sword tournaments, parkour maps, and countless mini game style matches. Yet when I moved to Halo 4 I could not find that same community, and certainly not with Halo 5. Is there something wrong with the games? Of course not, but there IS something wrong with how we can find those community custom game people. I would love to spend hours playing with people who want to chill, chat, and play some custom games. But I cant find them, and if I cant, then you know others are having the same struggle. How can we solve this problem? Here are a few ideas:
Get a easy to use community forum dedicated to custom games, and publicize it. - Have some way to mass invite people who want to play custom games but aren’t your friend. - Create a battlefield type style of servers with people on custom games that you can choose from. Now i know that there are many more things that could be done, and that these solutions are very big and some are very expensive, which is why I want to hear Your ideas and how YOU think you could fix this. Remember 343 cant hear us unless we have a big enough voice, so reply! Thank you!
Wasnt there a halo game that had matchmaking for custom games? OR am i mistaken? In any case, a matchmaking system for custom games would be cool, select from a few options, search, and try a few till u find a lobby/group you like.
I would have to agree, I believe we should have a seperate slot(like how the arena playlist are separated from the war zone playlist) and have custom game modes, and have some of the top rated maps be featured
I think this is partly from the changing community. I remember back in those days everyone I knew had XBL and we all used mics and talked to everyone. I also had people on my friends list online playing Halo, and there was always someone playing custom games. Through matchmaking I made friends that I would play customs with and through them make even more friends. I think that social, super-easy-to-make-friends aspect is what’s different. Maybe its just me because I’m older, but it seems like the people…just aren’t the same.

Why are you questioning that? I’ve been with Halo since the beginning too.
Anyways, I think OP is saying that the services provided by those two sites should be integrated into the actual game.

I agree with you completely, the way I managed to get so many hours of custom games was through that sense of community and friends all talking with mics, yesterday I had my connect on and a very lovely user called me a “fat -Yoink!-” just for chatting with my family. What we really need is that sense of community back, and if it doesn’t come back on its own we can get it back ourselves!

So… A Server Browser or something along those lines?
Because I’ve suggested it multiple times in different times over the years and got shot down indiscriminately. And I made well thought out points.
The community mentality is (or was at the time) that having such a feature would destroy matchmaking, when it would instead solve a lot of the “having fun” problems.
