Lets talk achievements

Alright before you continue to read, dont like spoilers? Your not in the right place.

First, if you havent read the bulletin then you might want to look HERE.

Second, thats alot of achievements, so im not naming them all out.

Third, lets start talking maddnes.

Is it me or do they have a similarity to Halo CEA(Primarily Campaign)?

Which achievement appears to be the hardest to you to complete?

Which achievement appears to be the most appealing to attain?

What do you guys think of the achievements?

Also, lets discuss some of the things that they reveal.

Eight missions, Gravity hammer(Possible Brute appearance), Master Chief Records(Flash backs), Terminals(May be relevant to the Forerunners and the Domain), RvB easter eggs in Spec OPs, Hunters(seems they want us to toy with them), Skulls(Of course theres Skulls), Spartan Poses(I vote T-Bag Pose), and of course challenges.

Please by all means, read up and discuss, answer or ask a couple of questions.

FORWARD UNTO DAWN

Ha T-bag pose would become new hayabusa…
As long as they are 8 good missions with places to explore thats good with me.
Don’t like the brutes coming back really, i thought the elites were kicking their -yoinks- all over the galaxy…(shown in the return i believe)
Its nice to not have really any multiplayer specific like the 2 for 1 from halo 3 … impossible to get;c
Lots of customization and file share achievements

Nice hearty amount of campaign (& Spops) achievements, with little-to-no multiplayer achievements. Which makes me a happy spartan

Yeah, looks like they are forcing your hand by making an achievement for everything, Your gonna have to expierence it all.

Im sure the missions will be extremely long. Master Chief will probably even take a nap every once in awhile and drink some coffee before moving on to the next check point.

Yeah, luckly theres no “Steppin’ Razor” or “Two For One”

I’m pretty satisfied with the Achievements. I think the hardest will be Bros to the Close. No Marine deaths is probably gonna be annoying. The best one is probably I <3 Red vs. Blue because it’s Red vs. Blue! What more reason do I need?

Agree Itll be friendly fire, mission restarting, and red forehead moment the entire time.

RvB was unexpected, wonder how that came about? Needless to say it will be found.

I didn’t mean it in a negative way, just nice to see some variety

YAY! NO STUPID MULTIPLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS! That’s the one thing I really disliked about Halo 3 and Reach: getting the obscure achievements that are way to silly to do normally. All of the achievements I have left to complete in Reach are either too hard to get without cheating or too hard to get because it’s hard to find them in playlists. So… YAY.

Lets not forget the map packs though. We know how those go.

I would personally like to see more multiplayer achievements because that’s where most of the replay value for most players comes from. Yet unlike other Halo games they should be achievable anywhere at anytime in any playlist. Making them fun and challenging to come up with but not super unlikely (like 2 for 1).

Although I share your enthusiasm for non-multiplayer achievos, I must inform you that we aren’t out of their warpath just yet.

Most of those highly difficult multiplayer achievements came w/ DLC map packs and were map-specific so there is still a chance they could return. Personally, I’d rather have Vidmasters

I could live with that. Map paticular achievements are a pain but if attainable on any map would suffice.

Could the SR-5 and SR-20 be referring to a Skill Rank and not the EXP progression based “Spartan Rank”?

> Could the SR-5 and SR-20 be referring to a Skill Rank and not the EXP progression based “Spartan Rank”?

Not to entirely sure. My guess is that it does stand for Spartan Rank. The True Skill rank is invisible to all players except yourself making achievements toward that pointless.

Also SR-5 could just be a numerical represention of a rank like Warrant Officer.

I don’t remember encountering any official mention of that. Was it something Frankie posted on neogaf? Do you have a source link for confirmation?

I will amit that it hasnt been officially confirmed by 343i, but it has been hinted to quite often. If you wish you can watch through the Comic-con interview where frank O’Connor mentions their intint with the true skill system.

The achievements I’m looking forward to getting are the ones you customize your Spartan with! I love them!

The hardest one to get though would have to be the one where you protect the Marines. It’s not like you can order them to stand here in the broom closet while you kill all the badguys, then comeback for them when it’s safe! They’ll run out like it’s christmas morning, and get their little heads beaten to a mushy pulp…then it’s back to square one.

Yeah if its like Beachhead from Halo CEA ill being doing most of the killings of the marines.

“WTF walk right into another grenade please”!
