In Halo 3 and ODST, we had achievements referred to as the Vidmaster Challenges. I am sure you remember them. Hard and fun to get, a good challenge for us gamers. And and we finally got one of these, we felt we truly had achieved something.
I cannot say the same about most achievements in new Halo games such as Reach, Anniversary and 4. No Vidmasters, and few achievements felt like something great to accomplish.
So if Vidmaster Challenges were to return in the next Halo game, what would you like to see?
For me, it would be an achievement for completing the campaign on LASO. Simple enough, yet still hard.
What do you think?
I’d love to keep the tradition of a Vidmaster Challenge involving four players in vehicles on Legendary with the Iron Skull on.
Speaking of Vidmasters, I heard Spartan Assault had a Vidmaster Achievement.
Might this mean that HX1 will have Vidmasters as well?
That would be pretty exciting.
Yeah, but the LASO one seems to easy

I don’t see how this helps here, rather than saying it could unlock armor.
Anyone got any Vidmaster challenge ideas?
Perfection in Throwdown…

I hope it is more challenging with new AI tech.
With all the new advancements in AI not being applied to Halo properly, Halo NPCs feel dumber every year.

I think there should be two sets of Vidmasters, one for Campaign, one for MP
Yup, we need much better AI, make the Prometheans and Covenant as deadly as they deserve to be, and the AI companions need to be better
Just don’t call them Vidmasters. That’s Bungie’s thing.

Not really

My bad wrong site. I’ll edit it.
Fun? I was exhausted by the repetitiveness, cheapness, and illogical rules.
Now Halo 2 IWHBYD, that was a worthwhile challenge.
We need somewhat challenging ones, stuff like Annual and Classic were not difficult

I dunno. That Lag on Annual was always god awful.
Anyways, what would you suggest?

Mind suggesting one then?

Can’t really think of anything at the moment

Random hero enemies (i.e. Hunters) popping up along the way would be nice. Think about it, you take the path you usually take, you always find the same enemies. What if there was a chance of strong enemies appearing out of the blue? It’d keep you on your feet, to be well prepared.
As for cheapness, during the Hog run, there is an absurd amount of bull–Yoink- compared to the Halo 1 Hog run. Particularly, the Ghost’s strong pull [magnetism], but also stuff like easily being flipped, splattered by a tile (despite it’s rarity), suddenly losing control of the Hog when landing…
Course my greatest lament would be the loss of an in-game timer. Instead, if you’re not quick enough, you get punished by falling to your death.
Don’t get me started on Halo 4 vehicle runs (Ghost and Broadsword)… my point is, vehicle runs have run their course. They’re stale, and no longer exciting, fun, or challenging IMHO.
As for illogical, why would I want to ditch a tank… we should not be forced to take a vehicle (i.e. the Mantis). There should be more choices.
