Is it being cheap to do it?
Or Is it just using a good strategy?
Did 343I intentionally design this base so it was possible or was it something they didn’t see coming and/or overlooked it?
Have you done it yourself?
It does go without saying that it has been used against you already.
Would you want a couple of energy shields in those doorways that are in front of the power generator so that projectiles can’t pass but people can?
I doubt it’s intentional considering you have to be at a very specific angle in order to do it.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to allow an infinite-ammo Scorpion to hammer away at the core from a very long distance away. There’s pretty much no counter to that aside from launching a full scale assault on the Scorpion, and you have to get through the enemy first.
I don’t think energy shields are a great solution. People should be allowed to shoot at the core with man-portable weapons from outside the Core room, if only because it can be damn near impossible to survive long enough to get inside the room at times, what with people jamming Ghosts up in it and other nonsense.
It’s not cheap.
Here is a post where I talked about what people call cheap tactics

- No. It requires too specific an angle for it to be cheap. You’re probably going to get taken down before you get that angle.
- Yes.
- Possibly.
4)No. I have tried, but I usually get killed before managing it. - I don’t quite remember anyone using it against me. Maybe someone used a Mantis, but I hardly think that counts.
- No.
Remember every homebase has some pillars or objects that are in the spot of where you would place your tank to “snipe” if you wanna shoot the core you have to get in range of the small arms fire. if they cant take you out, well too bad. its not cheap or anything. its winning.
which is the primary objective
I’m sorry, sniping the core? With a tank?
I’ve never seen this, ever. Is this really a thing? O.O

I’ve heard this talked about before but I’ve never seen it happen either. I’ve seen people try, but the shots just glance off the doorways. I guess it is possible when so many talk of it but I don’t think it needs changed much. If you’re that fussed, don’t let them take your first two bases or give them the first two bases without any effort or resistance, then watch them try to kill your core with assault rifles and magnums. Only been in a couple games where the team let this happen, it’s actually really good fun
It’s not that hard to not get shot off or if the rest of the team got their attention.
With a Gungoose alone I can take the angle and shoot anyone by the core (and especially someone trying to get REQs from the center), and that’s just me sitting out in the open.
We have Ad Victoriums that can snipe the core and you only have to be there for a few seconds.
And lets not forget the standard Fuel Rods that can snipe the core and the enemy team can’t do Yoink! about it except throw their bodies in the way.
