Hey there everybody. Trueskill 2 just rolled out… and my games seem more mismatched then ever. I, a player who has been playing this game ~ 2 weeks or so, after a 2 1/2 year hiatus from Halo, seem to be matched quite frequently against Onyx and Champion players. I played against Champion 99 multiple times so far during my placements in Slayer, and Champion 23 during my placements in FFA (I ended up Diamond 2). Not to mention the many Onyx players of varying rank that I’ve been matched against. The key point here is against. Not once have these higher ranked players been on my team, and very often, much more so than before, the games have been extremely one-sided. Usually when I am not matched with these higher tier players, and I am instead matched with same tier, (Diamond) I tend to over perform. However, when matched against them, my teammates, and often myself, can’t keep up. There have been many steak dinners going both ways for me tonight. Anyone else been experiencing some particularly swingy games? How is this happening at such a rate when Trueskill 2 touts itself at predicting matches at a 68% rate over the previous 52% of Trueskill?
The skill gap in many of these games has been very, very apparent. Is there any information on the specific formula used to make matches, or set placements? I haven’t finished my Slayer qualifiers yet, I’ve still got 2 left to go, but I fully expect to be placed somewhere mid Diamond based on the games so far, seeing how I was placed where I expected to be in FFA based on my performance during those games.

Why so many mismatched games with Trueskill 2?
Anyone else experiencing a higher than usual number of mismatched games, especially during qualifiers?
Also, yes, I do realize the new system just releasing on top of the new season just starting can cause some kinks. These kinks shouldn’t include mismatching players by multiple CSR tiers, however.
