The Halo 4 UI(User Interface/Menu) is honestly a bit weak.
The main menu and the Infinity Menus are both pretty awesome, but once you get into the lobby menus it gets… Meh…
Halo: Reach honestly had the best UI/Menus hands down. I cannot tell you how many times, still to this day, when I’m setting up a custom game someone asks “Uhm… How do you change teams again??”
Also the players gamertags being vertical on the player card until you scroll over them is very annoying, it makes looking through gamertags before a match starts very difficult.
The Halo 4 stances are honestly one of my favorite parts of the game. they add a unique touch to each player, can you imagine if the Halo 4 menu looked like the Reach menu and when you scroll down your friends you see each of them preforming their stances? That would be awesome.
:EDIT:
I knew I was leaving something out! There is only one thing I dislike about the stances and that is that you cannot choose which weapon your spartan is holding. There have been some stances ruined for me simply because I didn’t want my spartan holding a nooby AR ;(
Look at it this way, let’s say I have the Breach stance unlocked… Yeah I love the stance, but what if I’m the kind of guy that is always known for whipping out my boltshot? So I decide to use the Breach stance but now my spartan is holding a Boltshot! Same thing goes for Plasma Pistol lovers!
What if when you master a weapon commendation you unlock 1-5 stances, all unique, of your spartan holding the weapon you’ve mastered?
Same thing for OBJ commendations! Oh you just mastered Grifball? Great now you’ve unlocked a stance where your spartan has a gravity hammer resting on his shoulder while holding the grifball out facing you. The possibilities are ENDLESS.
Also while I’m at it… When you check your stats on HaloWaypoint every spartan is doing the same old stance holding the same old AR, what if the weapon you were holding was which ever rifle you have the most kills with? Maybe even allow us to select our weapon skins to be view-able on that player model?
The Halo 4 UI added a minimum of 2 or more menus to go through to accomplish every task. If 343 has any understanding of the community’s wants and common graphic design, this will never happen again and we will go back to Reach’s UI, but upgraded if that’s at all possible.
I remember being a newbie at Halo 3 and even back then I thought the menu was slightly hard to navigate, but the send you pick up Reach the menu navigation was awesome!
They need to throw out every single aspect of Halo 4’s horrible UI, especially those hideous player cards and use an improved version of Reach’s UI for Halo 5. Reach’s UI is the best part about the game!

True dat, I just hope they keep stances.
The cards aren’t that bad, nor are the stances.
But I will agree it can be terribly inconvenient.
- PLAYER cards customization
> Gamercard: The information box that appears next to a player when you highlight them in the game lobby. For example the gamercard in Halo: Reach displays the players spartan model and info such as armory completion %, daily/weekly challenges completed, and commendation %.
>
> One feature I think could really add some longevity and immersion to the Halo 5 experience is personal gamer cards that each player gets to customize with whatever information they want.
>
> For example: Let’s say I am a player who focuses on having a high K/D, that would be one of the stats i could have listed on my gamer card.
> Another example: I personally love to forge my own maps, you could have your map and the number of downloads or average rating players give your map.
>
> It’s basically like the “gamer card” from Halo: Reach that displays your spartan model and stats such as Armory Completion %, Commendation %, etc. Except you would get to choose what information is displayed. Before each match I personally like to look at what unique stats each player in the lobby might have, only problem is I am most likely looking at the wrong stats and don’t have enough time to scour through the entirety of their stats.
>
> And it would be awesome if they gave you a huge list of different things you could have displayed such as number of a certain medal you get alot, or the number grunts you’ve killed in the campaign, etc.
>
> I really do believe this would pique many of the players interest in the game and allow players to be much more involved in the game. If you agree or disagree please post and explain why.
>
> Edit: Thanks everybody who has supported this idea so far, and I’m loving all the input so far!
>
> But this idea needs MOAR SUPPORT!!! So please people, if you want this feature in the game, leave a quick comment to express that, and thanks in advanced! : D

The beauty in ui is in the amount of details::
if I look at my active roster I should be able to see what playlist my friends are playing what game type and how far along they are or what game or what the score is - Halo 4 has none of those details
File shares - why can’t I look at them in per game lobby anymore
The infinity menu = awesome, i did like however, how halo reach had multiple backgrounds that changed from time to time meaning you weren’t sick of what you saw.
Player cards = messy, i like the stances, they’re a great idea, but the gamercards themselves are too messy. Halo reach had the best being horizontal yet you could scroll over and see a full sized spartan.
Lobbys were better in reach. Again its knowing where everything is, reach had like two desktops: 1 side it was the game the other side the players, it worked very well.
The menu in which you press start is alright, but i think that also could be developed on more (i don’t know how).
Halo3 mythic had the best theme menu , Halo reach was meh but nice with the concept art.

both halo 3 and halo 3 mythic were too blue for me. Reach all the way.

what if they did it with colors and skipped the blue ?
Yeah I don’t really like the whole “EVERYTHING MUST BE BLUE” thing that Halo has going on… I mean look at waypoint right now… Even HaloTracker is blue everywhere.
