Longbow 1

Longbow 3
I have made this image so people can talk about certain sections of the map and people will understand where they are talking about.

I’m a huge fan of BTB so this map get’s me really excited. I really hope some of you will share that excitement and join in on a discussion of this map.
Well I’m quite sad that nobody shares the excitement that I do… More map for me!
I guess I’ll try to start out the discussion. I honestly think this could be my new favorite BTB map. It’s not extremely huge and it looks to be pretty symmetrical. One of the things I like about Highlands in Reach was that it had all the seperate buildings yet still maintained great map flow for BTB. Something that seems to be very visable in Longbow. If I had to guess Blue building and Red building probably have two way teleporters. I’m not sure though as I haven’t seen enough gameplay on it. Either way it looks like a great map. A map with the flavor of Highlands and the layout of Sidewinder and Standoff. It is also important to point out that their is snow on this map. Something that only one map on Reach had(Breakpoint).
Needless to say I am extremely pumped about this map. It looks like a really high quality BTB map.
Would anyone else like to make theories or point out things they like or dislike about this map?
There’s not that much to discuss. It just looks like a good map with good architecture. I’m just happy that 343 is making original maps instead of re-making old ones.
I saw an article that called Longbow by a different name from THC. Huh, must have been a typo. Good read though.
The map itself looks nice, plenty of space for player/vehicle combat and (don’t bite my head off when i say this) reminds me a bit of Breakpoint from the top down view.
The map looks excellent, both in a visual standpoint as well as a gameplay perspective (judging by layout and gameplay videos). Lots of cover to allow infantry to walk around the map without problem, but enough space to allow comfortable vehicle combat.
In plus, snow! Who doesn’t love snow?
You wanna know what I like?Just look at the vertality of this map…I think Ican say I just say the first jetpack/jumppack friendly BTB map…
The way its made, classic BTB with tanks and aircraft, well I could see their role being diminished…
However infantry combat with a bit of vertality in it? **** yeah
Thanks goes to the OP for showing me the map

Yes, snow is a plus…Speaking of snow,I wishthat 343 actaully looked to the game that started it all for inspriation for once and added them slippery ice lakes from CE maps like Ice Fields…

I’m just hoping we get some good maps that aren’t symmetrical, although Longbow looks nice.
Haven, so far, has been the only one to really grab my attention, though.

I know their isn’t a ton to talk about but it’s a ton better to talk about multiplayer maps than what most of the people are talking about on the forums. I figured it would be a nice thread to start to avoid a bunch of the complaint threads. I always try to bring out the happy part of the community.

Yeah, Ice Fields and Sidewinder were awesome maps with the ice, making us slip and slide around.
Or, you know, they could just remake Ice Fields and Danger Canyon, since they were two of the best Halo maps ever.
The map looks very fun, with some good vehicle combat. The beautiful skybox helps, too.
I’m afraid it might be hard to see some good heavy vehicular action, boneyard + paradiso = longbow?
Much small covers to behind to hijack, stick or EMP combined with high up buildings and cliffs for high altitude sniping, nade rain, DMR camping or just Spartan BBQ. Not to mention navigating a vehicle there seems like a deathtrap imo, very easy to ambush a vehicle when it can’t turn around or is forced to do slow turns.
Still, I won’t say anything until I’ve played it, but Sand Trap was my favourite BTB map and that is nothing like it. It reminds me more of the cluttered, sniper friendly BTB maps of Reach, where vehicles had to camp to survive.
I like it
reminds me of avalanche… yes just because of the snow.

Danger Canyon is over-rated and Ice Fields is under-rated.

Aww, thank you! Is it the hair?
Oh… the map… FOREVERALONE
I think Haven is going to be my favorite map for obvious reasons, lol.
I do love how the map looks. Light vehicles (each team gets a ghost and mongoose), big open areas that are great for mid-long range weapons but have lots of cqb potential, symmetry, and more. If this is as close to a Halo:CE Sidewinder remake (my all-time favorite map!), then I can deal with it. I can’t wait to get my chance to play on it and see just what it will feel like!

HAVEN
Resting high above Requiem’s surface, harmonic-resonance platforms appear to facilitate the monitoring and management of the shield world’s solar preservation system. These elaborate machines enable artificial planets to support their immense populations of indigenous life.
