I want this to just be for fun. I remember ever since I was a kid playing Halo: CE, I have always wanted to wield the Hunter’s cannon. I am very happy that this will be a reality soon. I just have some curiosity now, for instance, how is the weapon fired by a spartan, etc… As well as, who else misses Halo: 3’s Hunters? They had a cannon that could fire what was the equivalent of a miniature scarab beam, and I always thought it was the neatest weapon ever.
I too always wanted to use a hunter’s assault cannon, and as for how it’s fired Wzone is a simulation so there’s that.
In the Anvil’s Legacy trailer, it showed the cannon being fired with the small projection (heatseeking) bullets that hunters shoot.
My guess is that it will have two firing methods :
- 1st Firing Style - Chaingun heatseeking bullets - 2nd Firing Style - Stronger fuel rod cannon style of fire
There are actually 2 variants with separate firing modes coming with the update.

Thats actually a better point than I initially took. Maybe there is no trigger? It just fires when the spartan wielding it wants it to? Very possible!

Quite true… Who knows, maybe in forge we can spawn it and just look inside.
shouldn’t the Hunter cannon be an Legendary Req since it the first time we can use it, also wish we can use the hunter shield too…lol bring in an armor mod for weapon mounted to be one handed… lol

Yeah it’s gonna be a 2 in one. Like a chaingun turret and a splinter turret.
