I see all the Halo: Reach forum has ended up becoming is just a place where random people rant on and complain on the game, 343i has their focus on Halo 4 right now so they can’t fix all the issues you have with Reach, plus it costs them $40,000 just to make a small update to the game - so quiet down about complaints a bit, give your ideas you want out of Halo 4 that were in Reach in the Halo 4 forum, because that would actually be useful.
Anyway, back to the topic, what things did you enjoy about Reach?
I enjoyed:
*Forge (loved it)
*Custom Games (better custom game designing with game type editing was great this game, however most was in Halo 3 still, it was great)
*Invasion (very fun game type when looking for something thats slimmed down a bit on the competitiveness, although I do like playing more competitively a lot of the time)
*Different aspects in the campaign (I didn’t like this campaign as much, however I will say I liked being able to fly spaceships in space and other things).
*Assassinations (I know a lot of people didn’t like this because you could get killed while doing it, however I do enjoy assassinating rather than beating down when my teammates aren’t around or enemies are nearby).[/li]

Yes I loved how much options you had for armor in Reach! Like it goes all the way down to your knees in armor customization. That was just great.
To be honest I actually did like some armor abilities. I liked drop shield (however you can never beat the old bubble shield! :P), I also liked jetpack because a ton of people would use it and you could easily kill them while they were in the air.
I loved armor lock. It was basically just a bubble shield and a power drain on 1 person. It was very useful because people could just run around in ghosts and splatter people, and you could just kill them with your armor lock.
Reach is by far my favorite halo, while reach has some certain mechanics I do not care for (bloom, AA), and while its main ranking system is purely social (cR); IMO, reach’s saving grace is its flushed out Netcode and Hitscan.
*Only in the most laggy conditions, does hit registration become a problem. Reach’s superior netcode allows for fair and predictalbe (only in post TU) combat.
*Arena is ingenious and now that jetpack is gone I cant wait to see the population spike. For years my friends and I would discuss halo’s 1-50 and we would say things like “only a certain number of people should be allowed to have 50s”. Arena does this magnificently using its percentage system to classify players iron-onyx. The only greivence I have about arena is that there is no “high rating” or “highest rating” stat (many people have a problem with losing their single diget onyxes at the end of the season.
*Challenges are ingenious, they are like achievements that reset every day! The replay value never ends.
*But by far the best thing about reach: there is something for everyone.
Whether you are a zombie hunter, a griffball pro, a swat of duty master, or a spartan alike there are a TON of playlists that always keep me coming back for more.
Dont like bloom? there is a playlist for that.
Want competetive gameplay, check out the Arena or MLG.
Wanna play some “objective slayer” head on out to invasion.
Want something more laid back? Try multi team.
Want something competitive but still laid back? Try super slayer. Like I said, there is always something to do.
> Without even reading…I thanked you because of the title Sooooo Many People Bash Reach to heck and back…it’s nice to see someone not doing it.
Thanks

Yes I totally agree. And if you don’t wanna do matchmaking, there’s always custom games, forge, campaign, and firefight. So with all the options matchmaking and the others offer, it’s great!

about that last one(assassinations), there is one more form of it: the A-Lag-ination, the most funniest form of it. The guy you assassinate somehow escapes your kill, then he goes for it-DEAD! that one always gets me XD

> I would say Reach has MORE options and tweaks you can make then Halo 3 did. Halo 3 didn’t even have Grifball until at a later date.
Yeah, I liked all the playlist options specifically. It was kind of cool how you could do Co-Op Campaign over matchmaking. Also just all the options that were given.
Forge and Customs are the only things that I really truly liked from Reach. I thought the campaign was decent (I did like how Noble Six was fully customizable though), Armory and credits were neat ideas, but shouldn’t have been used as a ranking system, and Matchmaking is, well, no need to go into that. It is what it is.
Its not new to Halo but I like it as much in Reach than I did any other Halo and that is, “Team Shooting”. To me team shooting is just as effective / important than any other Halo game and makes all the complaints about AA irrelevant (For the most part). I love working as a team… to me getting a team shot kill assist is just as satisfying as getting a no - scope head shot… in fact its more satisfying to me. Jetpacks are fun to watch too lol
Also I love the campaign in this game. Much more, “Human” than previous games which makes me like the characters better. I hope they take a lesson for storytelling in this game for the new Halo.
And last I have always LOVED vehicles in Halo. This is one of the many things that make Halo different than other shooters for me (The necessity of team shooting is the other main one). I like how the vehicles are less overpowered in this game (Save the Banshee) and requires you to still kind of, “Team shoot” in a sense. Its not a smart idea to go by yourself (As in… a warthog w/ just a driver and gunner) on hemorrhage w/ out any support. Its taught me to be a better driver.
