Lets talk about reccommended skulls for each mission.

With Skulls confirmed in Halo : CEA, I’d like to get the community talking about which of the skulls are reccommended for use in each mission, especially for, if there is, Campaign Scoring activated as meta-game. So here we go.

Iron, Black Eye, Tough Luck, Catch, Fog (Cloud), Famine, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Mythic.

Pillar of Autumn
Iron, Tough Luck, Tilt
I’m thinking Iron is possible. So is Tough Luck, since in the cramped POA quarters, the Covenant doesnt really have much space to dive away from grenades. Tilt could be a good choice too if you focus on Noob Combo-ing the Elites and focusing on headshots for everybody. All in all, three skulls.

Halo
Iron , Tough Luck
I was thinking Catch, but then again, you would not want tons of grenades thrown at you while fighting in open spaces most of the time. Among all other skulls, I think Tough Luck is the only good pick to make.

Truth and Reconciliation
Tough Luck , Famine

You got plenty of weapons to grab in this level so ammo shouldnt be much of a problem. And you got your Sniper Rifle, even. Famine shouldn’t be much of a problem here. As for Tough Luck, the same principle applies inside the TAS ship - enemies can’t really dive away much. Catch is obviously NOT advised.

The Silent Cartographer
Tough Luck, Thunderstorm
Focus on headshots and EMP the shields of the Elites plus Jackals and you shouldn’t have much problem. As for Tough Luck, its purely personal choice. Get inside the Cartographer and you’ll see why. In addition, this is a bonus on Hunters since it has no effect on them.

Assault on The Control Room
Still thinking about this.

343 Guilty Spark
Catch, Tough Luck , Thunderstorm
The Flood dont use Grenades, so this is essentially a free points skull. I wouldn’t activate Fog on since you could easily get lost while trying to get out of the complex, and combat forms may ambush you too often if you aren’t careful.

The Library
Catch , Thunderstorm*
Like the old Halo 3 saying goes, “Flood dont use nades!”. Free points up for grabs, Other than this…I dont reccommend any other skull, though. Iron on this level is…well…

Since there are no shielded combat forms introduced until Halo 3, if im not mistaken, activating Thunderstorm may serve to do nothing as well.

Two Betrayals
You face the Flood, the Covies, and the Sentinels in this long mission. Im not certain as to which skull is reccommended for this level, to be honest.

Keyes
Catch, Famine

If you’re daring, you can take your chances with Catch, With luck, the enemy will wipe out each other. As in TOA, there’s lots of ammo to be gathered from fallen enemies in this level. But Famine may be a secondary choice in this chaotic level.

The Maw
Catch, Tough Luck, Thunderstorm
You know the drill. Headshots and EMP for Covies and Sentinels. And Flood dont use grenades.

This is just my personal opinion based on playing Halo on the PC on Legendary.

Assault on the Control room

IWHBYD - Reason: The cutscene message on the level IS “I Would of been your daddy”.

Very interesting idea, but Anniversary won’t have all of these skulls. In the Halofest panel they mentioned about not wanting to include any skulls which actually changed the AI behaviour (or something like this) and I’m pretty sure they confirmed that Thunderstorm would not be in it in the QnA section at the end.

There are still going to be some skulls returning though and they’re even adding new skulls such as Boom (doubles explosion RADIUS, not acceleration like with Cowbell) and Malfunction (a random HUD element disappears, a different one each respawn). So personally I’m looking forward to trying Grunt Funeral (grunts explode like plasma grenades a few seconds after they die) and Boom lol

On the plus side you have to find them again unlike Reach  although they dont work and you can’t see them in classic mode, same with terminals.

Oh and unfortunately I believe IWHBYD was also confirmed as not being in it since there wouldn’t have been enough dialogue or something. :frowning:

I agree completely with your skull decision, however I wish there were new skulls, having the same ones for four halo games is just boring, and i think finding them was so much fun. What do you think?

Theirs most likely not going to be tough luck, thunderstorm, catch and famine as skulls in Halo CEA because 343 said that they aren’t going to be changing the AI for CEA.

^^ What they said. Anyways you’re taking the easy route with skulls. If they kept the classic ones, for all covvy levels i would do Tough Luck-Catch-Black eye-Tilt-Famine-Fog and maybe Mythic. Iron on a couple of them.

All Flood missions would be the same, minus Tilt and Famine. I don’t need to turn off Fog, I can hear the Flood gurgling from a mile away :stuck_out_tongue:
