My idea for a perfect customization and req system COMBO!! We would have reach level customization for our armor for example you would be able to select your armor similar to how you do in Halo 5 (when you go into spartan appearance). But if you click an armor or helmet piece you want to wear you could change its variant (Similar to how you could change helmet attachments in reach but you could do that for all armor pieces)…
Some armor would be unlocked via certain ranks like if you reach 104 you unlock Centurion or if you reach 117 you unlock Master chief’s mark 6.
Although some armor and armor variants would be unlocked via the req system and some would be unlocked via challenges such as if you get 200 spartan laser kills you unlock the "Deaths head " Hell jumper helmet variant.
(The “Deaths head” variant is essentially Dutch’s skull decal on a helljumper helmet)
OR if you get 150 Sniper head shots you get Jun’s helmet and etc.
All weapons, vehicles, weapons skins and etc would be unlocked via the req system.
Most emblems would be accessible at start but some would be unlocked via challenges.
If you were wondering how you would unlock shoulder or knee pieces in a req pack the answer is simple…
You would simply unlock the entire neck area down when you get an armor set in a req pack (or a challenge) and you could essentially change any number of the afore mentioned pieces on your base spartan model.
(This model would essentially be your spartan without his armor on. Of course though you would start with recruit on and have to interchange armor from there.)
I think that is about all? Hmm oh yeah I almost forgot that a third color option would be available… UNDERSUITS COLOR!! That’s right you would be able to change undersuit colors.
(Although if you are playing a team based game type the default for that type would be black)
Also playable elites would be in the game and there armor customization would be exactly the same as reach’s (a system based upon rank) except there would be new armor. Honor guard anyone? )
Oh the pictures of Mattel figures represent what your base spartan model would look like (with different colors and armor of course) and like a Mattel Halo figure you would attach all of the customizable pieces to your spartan I.E the chest plate, shoulders, knee pads and gauntlets.
Base spartan model 1,Base spartan model 2
OK now that is all leave your thoughts in the thread below and I’ll catch you next time…
I agree for the most part, but I don’t want customizable under suits in the same fashion. I would either prefer it as black or the same color as your primary color, that’s it. Many will likely disagree with me, but I think it would just make the Spartans look like clowns if we are able to change so many colors. That’s really my only gripe.
I think the patterns should be able to be toggled on or off as well, because there is armor in Halo 5 that I like but can’t use because of the odd patterns.
The only thing I ask for is a lot of different combinations and still easy to get a quick overview on what pieces you have. Halo 4 would be perfect if the armor duplicates didn’t exist.

Well I was trying to cater to the people who want that, but personally LONG LIVE BLACK UNDERSUITS!!
And your last idea is not bad, not bad at all.
THAT…doesn’t sound half bad. I think that would be dope. I for one am a much bigger fan of unlocking things through completing certain tasks. And I know that at this point video games are so expensive that microtransactions are essential so that the company gets money back. I think this would be a very good mix of the two.

I think the cost of a video game are mainly based on how many that works on the game. I wish the microtransaction features in future Halos do get toned down a bit. As unlocking through challenges is a great idea because you earned that armor, not bought it.

Yeah and this way you can unlock bad-yoink- armors with challenges and the devs could still make money.
I really would like it if for Halo 6, they used Reach’s customization. That way, you could get the armor you wanted, without buying reqs and hoping you get some cool armor, it’s just too random!

Then again they probably wont remove the req system because it has made them so much money
I think it is awesome but is a bit confusing.
