Let's talk about pre-order armour.

Does anyone think it’ll ever be made available for the rest of us. I would happily pay 5-800 MSP for an armory DLC. It’s silly that people are hoarding codes and selling them for 60 plus dollars. 343i has the opportunity to stop all of the vultures claiming absurd profits from a valueless code and turn them into profits for their company (AT A REALISTIC PRICE). I get that some people feel entitled to their exclusive armour because they feel like they “paid for it.” This is simply not true. It doesn’t cost ANY money to reserve a game. It’s over now, you’ve had your fun. 4 months later, those of us who joined after the fact would like cool armour. It just so happens that the helmet I find most impressive is unavailable to me. Honestly, I’d prefer it ended up in a classified code that I have to work for, but I doubt that is going to happen. At this point, 343i, just take my damn money.

It’ll happen eventually, but I wouldn’t expect to see it happen until after Castle releases.

When the Map Pack Pass runs out, you’ll need to buy another to get Armor unlocks again.

Oh, that would make sense. It was Scanner and that other thing this season. Maybe it’ll be Deadeye and Locus next season? I have a feeling Fotus might not happen this way because it’s a full armour set and not just a helmet. So long as I get Deadeye…

i believe it was stated that they would be released at a later point for free

i also do not belive there will be another season pass
castle is probably last map pack

Microsoft wants Halo to be annualized so with the purchase of Halo 2 anniversary: limited edition, you might get full armor sets such as:
Oceanic circuit (I think that’s what it’s called)

Gungnir pulse

Hazop forest

Venator raptor

This is only speculation but I would not be surprised if this was the case.

They’ve only ever said it some of it MAY become available to everyone in the future. I’m not sure where people have read it WILL become available, or that it will be free when it does so. If you can quote a source on that I’d really appreciate it so that I can include it in my topic about DLC:

Complete checklist of all DLC and how to unlock it

I have no problem with the Locus, Deadeye, Scanner and Strider helmets being made available to everyone. But the Fotus and Recruit Prime should stay as exclusives as people paid extra money for exclusive content.

The pre-order helmets/armour skins were free to everyone depending on where they pre-ordered their copy of the game. It cost them nothing. Whereas exclusive content from the LE game and LE console versions actually cost extra.

So yes, it would be a good idea to release the DLC armour/skins at a reasonable price, but NOT the LE game/console exclusive DLC, as it would p*ss off a hell of a lot of people who paid a lot of money.

It be better if they just added more commendations and made the pre-order armor available through that. Extraction and Grifball Commendations anyone?

> It be better if they just added more commendations and made the pre-order armor available through that. Extraction and Grifball Commendations anyone?

That’s a good idea - Extraction Victory, Grifball Victory, and other game-type related commendations for them could be created. Then the Extraction Mastery and Grifball Mastery commendations could unlock some armor etc.

It would be nice to have. Maybe as DLC but I would also instead like to see them as earned through completion of commendations maybe.

Keep them all exclusive, otherwise there was no point in preordering.

Having it as a code would be good, but it needs to have a huge challenge associated with it (e.g Master all Player commendations etc). If you already have the helmet, you should get a large xp bonus.

I expect all the pre-order bonus skins/helmets will be available on the marketplace at some point, though I’m pretty sure you won’t see FOTUS armour or the Recruit Prime skin on there.

I have all the pre-order bonus & Limited Edition skins/helmets btw

> Keep them all exclusive, otherwise there was no point in preordering.

It was never said that the pre-order bonuses were exclusive. They were exclusive to get from specific retailers when you pre-ordered, but I don’t think 343 ever actually stated that they wouldn’t be available to the general public at all. Only the LE game and console armours were actually stated to be exclusive.

> I have all the pre-order bonus & Limited Edition skins/helmets btw

Same here
You get all the DLC emblems too? Spartan, Bulletproof, Assassin, Bonebreaker and Mjolnir, plus the Corbulo emblem from the 12 month XBL subscription? And also the Avatar T-shirts from the Halo 4 controller and the Prima guide?

I know I did

Thats a big “IF”, in my opinion.

I’m for an infinite combination of armor and commendation pairings. The pre-order stuff will be made available eventually, but I feel the pre-orderers should be given something else so they can still be exclusive.

Sadly, I don’t think any new content will be available outside of a ODST- or CEA-like exttension to Halo 4.

Agreed

> selling them for sixty plus dollars

What kind of idiot
Just
Well, whatever. Less money in the hands of those who shouldn’t be handling it in the first place.

Never gonna happen. My first Halo game was Reach and I seen a bunch of players using the pre order chest and flaming helmet, but I couldn’t get it because I didn’t know about Halo at the time and now I do. Since I found out about Halo, I was able to follow the forums and seen that Halo 4 was up for pre-order. I pre-ordered it it got what I deserved for buying a game that didn’t hit stores yet. But, since you know about Halo now, better luck next time. We got exsclusive armor because we waited. You probably didn’t want to wait so, that’s your bad.
