What I loved about Halo’s objectives were the variety and how well they played on the maps; Halo 3 and Halo Reach had it right. Objectives and their playlists were diverse, fun and all in one place.
Fast forward to Halo 4, and all objectives were separated, and in the end the only playlist with a population was CTF. We had lost all objective diversity.
I argue that we need to keep it simple, only have 1-2 objective playlists. One should have classic CTF, Oddball and KoTH; being able to throw the oddball across the map completely changed how the game was played, giving the defending team an advantage at all points because the enemy would have to take out an entrenched enemy using their whole teal, and when the defending team were close to losing, they would throw the ball in the middle of the map where their teammates have spawned near already.
And being unable to drop the flag + forced pickup was one of the worst ideals ever.
