343,
Please include more than ten maps at launch please. Everyone here should already know how often certain maps were played right after launch and the lack of rotation that came with it. Do what Bungie did and ship with some forge maps or just have 15-16 normal maps ship with the game. That way there is a good balance for every playlist.
Since we’re on the topics of maps though, how about everyone talks about some features they would like to see in the maps with the new Halo!
I’d be happy with 15 - 16 maps on disk. depending on what the X1 can deliver through visuals and that. Some big maps and some arena types. Everybody loves full scale warfare. Assault must make a return.
When I come to DLC. Don’t give me just 3 maps in a pack @ 3 months intervals. It makes you look cheap and milky
> I want to see vehicle maps as big as those seen in the game Battlefield 3.
That brings up another great point. With dedicated servers and more processing power/cloud computing. Do you think Halo Xbox One could go up to 24 or even 32 person online?

Agreed and if the game shipped with more maps that means more forge palettes which means more opportunities for awesome forge maps. This could also mark the return of popular gametypes.
> And a full map editor so the community can create entire new maps from scratch.
That would be pretty neat, or at least the ability to terraform maps and add foliage or cliffs. Some really neat stuff could come out of that kind of forge if excellent custom game options were brought back as well.
Flood infected Covenant Ship. Special thing about it.: Random Flood AI that can attack players
A City Battle field: Random (really rare) incomming covie drop pods. maybe some flight vehicle fights above the city. possibility to die wen some damaged vehicle comes down

I was wondering the same thing, it could be a very interesting direction for 343 to try to head in. If they do decide to make this a possibility it would open up options all over the place, could we get a pelican or a phantom in there? what types of game types does this pull into the game? for spawning, i know we dont like to copy other games too much but if the maps are that large, do we have squads, or at least can we choose to spawn with people? what kind of new weapons need to brought in? or even what old weapons need to be brought back (missile pod)?
I think it is an idea that is definitely worth exploring, the issue would be that unlike battlefield, this is not the entire focus of the game, there still needs to be smaller and medium maps that need to be balanced within the sandbox
I want more environmental hazards. I want a bullet train like Terminal and Slippery ice like Side Winder.
I would like more movable parts like gates with switches, auto turrets like Snowbound.
Halo 5’s launch needs an even distribution of maps. Small arena style maps, medium maps, and large vehicular warfare BTB maps.
More turret weapons: LAAG and Plasma, Flame thrower and Missle Pod please. Maybe a Promethan HardLight cannon as well.
And lets have a variety of environments for these maps. Bring back Covenant themed maps.
I would also like a forge world or multiple fire world with more unique environments snow, grass, Volcanic etc.
At least it wasn’t as bad as the 7 Maps that launched with Halo Reach (not including Forge World).
Along with the low number, those Maps were also just Copy/Pasted from the Campaign and honestly were extremely boring to casually Forge on and even play on.
I would like more dynamic Maps in Halo 5. More background details, more strange occurrences (Flood on Isolation), more ambient life, more FISHIES, and a wider scenery palette.
[/li]- Gates and switches
Ambient Life
Moar Secret Rooms
Immense Background that doesn’t kill frame rate
More diverse and wider Scenery palette
Less “Return to the Battlefield” where it doesn’t belong (For Forgers)
Moar Easter Eggs
Creative Kill Boundaries. I mean what happened to Minefields and giant Forerunner Towers shooting at you!
More themed maps
A remake of our favorite maps (Blood Gulch, Guardian, Midship, and more)
i’d love to see invasion return and with it a high ground themed map that requires you go to go up the hill and have multiple breach points(lets say like the main door, the bunker, and the pipe) that you have to set a bomb at(assualt style) to gain access to a huge base and will lead you to your other objectives. pretty vague i know but i think the potentials there lol.
i agree with you stealhmonky an all out war mode with a bunch of people, phatoms/pelicans, and the like could be really really awesome. it would need to be balanced right and still hopefully play like halo and not battlefield. and you cant forget about your lone wolf players, 4v4 guys, doubles, etc. i cant remember who brought up the flamethrower but YES! bring that back but i hope its more like the halo ce one on pc.
I think larger-scale Halo multiplayer would be interesting! Maybe bring in a Pelican or two for each team, you could deploy in four-person squads to different areas of the map, depending on who controls it, and so on.
I’d also like to see more dynamic maps. Destructible environments, environmental hazards, switches to open doors to other rooms, and other ways to make the map not quite as static as they currently are. One can only develop so many circular maps with multiple rings.

16 vs 16 or 32 vs 32 Invasion with Pelicans and Phantoms, Mantis’s and Locusts oh man!
I would love to see at launch about 16 maps on disk, not including Forge maps (have some of those in the playlist rotation as well).
DLC should be released a little more spread out, I do want my maps but what maps do we have to look forward to now. Is there even going to be another map pack for Halo 4?
I would also like to see the maps a bit more interactive for example:
You could have generators that build up a static charge and if a spartan is near them they get zapped and lose shields.
You could have floods, fires, etc to just make the maps feel more alive.
Day, night, and evening modes for the same map.
Weather- rain, snow, fog etc. If not in matchmaking have it available for customs. Imagine some of the Flood games that could be created.
Last Resort- there was the bridge that could be knocked down, and a hanger door that could be opened with a button.
High ground- The gate was sealed until someone opened it.
Stand Off- Bases were closed until someone opened them up.
This is just a quick example of some of the things I would love to see return. Plus if giving us a button that can control and doors, windows, or whatever in Forge wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
