I really don’t know what his problem is.
Hey @Freak_A_Fan, you mind elaborating on what point I missed?

I think this is roughly the 3rd thread I’ve read like this? Yeah done is nonsense but I see a decent topic rotation and consistency in current problems with gameplay progression and customization outlets.
I’m especially vocal about customization and my desire for ai in forge and for firefight or something like firefight that is open cell worlds like the campaign.
People shouldnt stop being vocal but nasty isn’t agreeable either. Bickering with eachother also doesn’t help us.
I couldn’t agree with this statement more. Especially the more we learn about the teams make up during development and currently as well. The leaving and hiring of figures alternates and skews the views of halo. It’s not the vision of the former team anymore because that team isn’t there
But we are
A lot of us have been here since one. Have been using forums since 3 or earlier. If you’re asking us to stop talking about these things. It won’t happen.
Edit: spelling n’ stuff
For me, it is frustrating when they announce different information across mutliple websites and profiles, making people miss announcements because it was on one of the dozen Halo twitters, or on reddit, or youtube, or news, or forums, or in support, or on a twitch stream instead of having all announcements be centralized into one place (if only they rebuilt Halo Waypoint for this purpose… oh wait they did and they still don’t want to use it!)
But on top of that confusion the devs tell us to send in support tickets, then turn around and admit that they made the way to get to support tickets a hassle so they don’t get spammed, then tell fans that “I can count the tickets we got on this issue on one hand” and blame us for not making the issues more apparent.
THEN for issues that are not said in one of the multitudes of spread-out announcements, they don’t add it to their list of known issues, and if you do send a ticket in, most of the time you only get an automated response. So many of those issues aren’t even acknowledged.
This may seem small to some, but I will complain again because it’s been 7 months. The Zeta Sky pre-order codes have not been fixed!!! We spent money to get these items! Mine worked fine, but I’m a black and red guy. My girlfriend is the one who likes light blue, but her code didn’t come out right. This isn’t like Jorge’s shoulder being in the inventory but non-textured. This isn’t a free cosmetic drop failing. We paid money and only a few of us got what we were promised. If they can’t even get something like that, something so comparatively small, but an actual currency transaction that is tracked by microsoft, distrubutors, and Waypoint itself, then at least for me I have to question their competence on everything large and small. I repeat myself like a broken record because if they can’t fix the stuff people actually paid for that seems easy to fix, how am I supposed to trust them on the big stuff that’s supposed to be free? Yeah, its annoying to repeat it, but until I get a personal response that it is added to a list that everyone can read (like a known-issues-list) or that they are actually working on making up for this mistake, then I will remind them constantly like a forgetful child. My GF doesn’t want a refund or money back. We will play the campaign when co-op comes out. We spent the money, we’re in it for the long haul. She just wants her blue and black AR and her blue and white armor that we bought the game early for. Is that too much to ask 343 for? Apparently, 7 months later, it is too much to ask for. She still sends in tickets and tweets at the various accounts. I’m still here complaining. We l know it is a glitch because her history says “AR coating” but she got a sidekick!
Sorry to take this out on you. But the Zeta Sky thing is the reason I came to the forums in the first place. And frankly, most of us repeat ourselves because they are like me and we don’t actually have a confirmation that they do have it on their to-do list somewhere, or the confirmation was put somewhere and you have to dig to find it. And I haven’t moved on because I like Halo Infinite.
No, they made 3 games I didn’t like in the franchise I loved the most. ![]()
Honest question: If someone doesn’t like half of the games in a franchise, do they like the franchise?
There are more than 6 halo games. In mcc alone you have 6 games, plus there is halo wars 1 and 2 and halo 5. Not even counting stuff like Spartan assault, just the big games.
Yeah - you’re right. I forgot about Wars and the top down games.
I figured most people wouldn’t count ODST.
Preach. The reason the “community” will dwindle is all because of people, who are like you described, are the reason for it.
I mean, what else is there to talk about? Since launch, we’ve gotten two new maps and a handful of not-so-great game modes (Team Snipers got butchered). I would wager a good percentage of the people coming here either didn’t play Campaign or didn’t find it interesting enough to talk about. You can only theorize about new modes (or rather old modes in Infinite’s sandbox) for so long before that becomes old hat as well.
If you want to shift the conversation, make the changes you want to see. Talk about things other than the stuff that people are justifiably upset about. Otherwise, you’re not really adding anything new to the conversation.
Honestly, in a situation like this, there’s a fundamental difference between the games made under and around Bungie’s tenure, and those made under and around 343’s. This is especially stark in the jump from 3 to 4. It’s like an entirely different game, and even the games under 343 are so wildly different that it’s entirely possible people are only fans of one of 343’s games.
Halo 4 is basically just Call of Duty, Halo 5 is a horrific mish-mash of every single FPS game released in and around 2015 (and I hate it with a passion), and Halo Infinite is Call of Duty but without loadouts.
I like 4 as much as you seem to like 5. I really liked 5’s gameplay but hated the story. I get where you’re coming from for sure. The franchise is also more than the core six games.
I do think it’s still a valid question - and I’m not directing it to anyone in particular. It does seem like some people really only like Halo 3.
Also should the jump be looked at from 3 to 4 or from Reach to 4?
Given the common divider line between what games they like and which they didn’t happens around when 343 took over, would it then be fair to say 343 is making people no longer like the franchise?
Can’t argue against that.
While I appreciate the sentiment; I don’t think this will lead to good constructive halo discussion
