I used to be very very active on the forums, but around the time Infinite released I decided to leave because the constant shouting was making my fist clench and my head pound.
I came back to scope things out and y’all are still yelling about the same ish. Now, some of you have personal complaints or appropriate feedback and some of you are just whining about how much you hate 343 because they made a game you didn’t like.
Anyway, all i’m really here to say is that all of these complaints about the Playlists, Battlepass, Challenges, “Missing” Modes, Career Progression, Playability issues, etc etc…You DO NOT need to keep repeating yourselves on these issues. Of course you can still be mad about it, you can be upset all you want, but reposting the same thing over and over and over isn’t going to help. The fixes and additions won’t come faster if you sound like a broken record.
343 knows. They know, they’ve seen and heard every drop of feedback that is constantly provided by us. So please refrain from continuing to talk about the same issues. The updates are coming and will take time, which translates to be patient. Find something else to give feedback on! Maybe talk about something that doesn’t involve issues with Infinite? Diversify the topics here.
You’re killing the vibe and the morale more than it already is. Stop reposting about the same topics every day, it will not make a difference if you tell them to update it faster than they are. They’re working as fast as possible as-is
Probably one of the reasons why the same issues get posted again and again, it’s because there hasn’t been any acknowledgement or response from 343i. With this sort of radio silence, it’s easy to jump to conclusion that either devs don’t care, or don’t consider it priority issue.
Some of the things people are complaining about are NOT a priority.
I agree there needs to be more info and transparency, but at the same time they have more to do than reply to every person on here complaining about every little thing.
Given the number of things 343 changes or omits for seemingly random reasons. I’d say its very important people explain what halo is to them constantly.
What made Halo good is about to fade away for good if Halo veterans or new fans stop complaining about what 343I does wrong with modern Halo.
Yes, we can appreciate new stuff implemented to the series and not being too negative on the forums.
But I’m not having some gaming company spitting on my favorite franchise and favorite community.
I’d agree with that. My issue isn’t with the folk that are genuinely posting feedback or change suggestions, it’s the the people that are preaching to the choir about issues that have already been talked about and acknowledged as “WIP” by 343.
One example would be more Ranked playlists. Commonly talked about, but already mentioned in 2+ blog posts by the devs.
Yes I agree it’s important to ensure 343 is aware of what we like and don’t like. The issue is that they have already been made very aware and have been fixing the issues talked about, but everyone still rants on it like a broken record. It’s like going to Subway, ordering a sandwich and yelling at the employee because he didn’t make it fast enough for you.
And the animosity towards 343 is another issue I personally have. It’s all good and right to be angry at them for getting things wrong, but we need to make sure we understand the difference between a bad decision (store) and a genuine problem that isn’t necessarily a quick fix (missing modes, forge and coop)
343 Chose to design the game in the way that it is right now, which is completely their fault. 343 did not choose to take this long to release Forge or Co-op or any modes that are missing from the game’s arsenal. There are obviously big technical hurdles that 343 is having issues jumping, and on that front I think we should be supportive of them. When it comes to issues that they DID design, no support should be given on that.
I’m complaining that time and energy that could be used to discuss something new is being wasted repeating the same messages asking for changes that will not come any faster than they already are.
When Bungie made Halo for Microsoft, everything launched as it was supposed to be. Yes, Bungie made some things fans didn’t like. Same way with 343I.
But what 343I changed, was sooo far away from the already existing universe. All the excuses and lies, didn’t help either. For me, it feels like they made much more mistakes to Halo than what Bungie did. And that is totally understandable. But 343I has worked on this franchise for a long time now, and really should KNOW what to make of it by now. All they try to do is make Halo their own thing and not including the fanbase.
It’s bad.
People aren’t going to stop complaining until the things they complain about are fixed. Some of those things will probably never get fixed so there will always be people complaining, myself included.
Take this thread for example, it isn’t the first thread I’ve seen making this point. It won’t be the last either.
Some people are pretty upset with this game and having an echo chamber can be cathartic. As a Harry Hardwalk myself, I try to leave any threads praising this game alone even if I cannot understand why people love it.
I haven’t played Infinite since launch, but from the sounds of things 343i hasn’t been moving fast on the fixes and have fixed some stuff people didn’t ask them to. They know a lot of people want collision and friendly fire but are being stubborn about changing it. Being loud might be the only way to really get the changes the community wants.
Both Bungie and 343 are in the same boat as far as a diversified fanbase goes. I remember there were many people upset with Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach either because those games were vastly different from the previous or the style choice was too different from “Halo” or Bungie straight up ignored canon and changed the story out of nowhere. For example, Master Chief used to be the last and only spartan in the lore. Halo 3 added equipment and there were a good sect of players who disliked that change. Halo Reach re-wrote pre-existing canon.
Neither era of Halo was perfect. And as far as 343 goes, they never once lied to the fanbase. I cannot recall a single time where they lied about Infinite in any way. We knew exactly what the store and Battlepass was going to be before the game even released, same with the missing modes and missing forge and coop, all of that was publicly announced as an issue way before Infinite even released.
And many people are so quick do forget that 343 has already acknowledged and acted upon player feedback starting immediately after Halo 5’s launch. The fact that the game as a whole is so different from their last two should go to show that, plus the updates they’ve already brought to the game. Every bit of player feedback has been acted upon thus far. They may not be perfect at first but at least they listen to us and fix their mistakes in a general sense.
They should be putting their own spin on Halo. Without that, Halo Infinite would’ve just been Halo 3: Reach Edition and we would’ve been getting the same exact content we’ve already gotten over a decade ago. Hell, without changes to the franchise there would be no point in them even making another game. We could just play MCC
You’re absolutely right Flash, I do agree with that.
Without loud player feedback they wouldn’t have known to act upon dislikes from Halo 4 and Halo 5, after all. Infinite’s foundation is what it is because of that feedback. Art style, story, music, Master Chief as a character, bringing back OG stuff from the old games. All that is thanks to such complaints.
Yeah, so when a problem never gets fixed it’s better just to ignore it and hope some year they will get to it, and that is even if they feel like it.
Sorry, that isn’t how the world works. If I pay for a product I expect it to work, and if the company is having issues with that product, I expect some legit answer. Not the run around 343 has literally been giving the entire player base. Sure, somethings will take time to fix and that is understandable, but to do what 343 actually did prior to the beta being released was completely unacceptable as a multibillion-dollar company. A triple A gaming company that has had 2 previous titles and years of experience. Yet the game is not even close to being half a game.
Please explain to everyone how having 7 years to work on a game that this is even possible without deliberately making poor decisions?
Even then, some people will still complain.
Ranked fixes that prevent smurfing? “But I want to play with my ex girlfriend who is Bronze I!”
Campaign “Bugs”? “But these were fun and 343 should leave these bugs in!”
Weapon changes? “But the gun was fine before!”
Obviously some of the changes 343 makes are bad (removal of skill jumps being a good example), however a decent portion of stuff gets complained about for no reason. Such as the new ranked changes. People would complain about smurf accounts, now that it’s changed there have been two posts saying they don’t like the changes. Hopefully 343 can work the UI out to either:
A) make a match composer that satisfies “everyone” or
B) can have more modes via
I. a sorter
II. categories
