We all know there is alot of criticism of halo 5 but also alot of love I want u all to tell me what u think about it u can be as positive or negative as u want but the catch is you can not bash how others feel about it (as much as I want to lol)
What I like about Halo 5:
Aspects that are a return to form, Arena:
-equal starts
-power weapons on map
-power ups on map
-no flinch
-descope
-no perks
-no loadouts
-no ordinance
-no armor abilities (spartan abilities are shared by all and are not part of loadouts, so there’s a balance)
… probably forgetting something.
I enjoy the movement mechanics. I was skeptical at first, but the beta put most of that to rest. It’s fun.
What I don’t like:
-Warzone most of the time. Just not my thing. Prefer BTB.
-The REQ system. I find people, especially here on Waypoint, complaining about grinding. What that does, is it turns the game into a chore in order to get a reward instead of the game itself being the reward. I personally don’t have this problem because I’ve been playing Halo for over a decade and playing Halo in itself is a reward. But based on seeing some posts here I’ve read about the best way to grind and seeing people trying to beat the AFK booting system in order to coast their way through Warzone Assault matches for REQ points … it’s just dumb. I’m sure there’s a better way of implementing it so the REQ system doesn’t make the game seem like a tedious chore you have to grind through to get a shiny REQ pack.
-Needs more permanent social unranked playlists (and one with Fiesta in the mix).
Campaign (short and sweet version): story was weird and disappointing, campaign level design and gameplay is fabulous and offers plenty of replay value at least for what I look for in a Halo campaign. Sangheilios and Genesis are gorgeous. Meridian interesting to see colony planet in game. Missions “Blue Team” & “Swords of Sanghelios” up there as some of my favorite Halo missions now along with “Silent Cartographer” and “Delta Halo”. Could be longer, sure, and could have more Blue Team, definitely, but that’s all on the writing end. Not design.
Multiplayer is fun-ish, but it isn’t halo.
Multiplayer is unbalanced, lack of modes, horrible MT, RNG, no split screen, Warzone, campaign, no dev BTB maps, competitive settings are not very good, radar is still in Team Arena, pistol is underpowered…
Um, Forge is good?
While let down by the campaign, I love the multiplayer! Feels faster paced like I imagine battles are in the Haloverse, the Armors are a little lacking and over abundant: same models with different designs. I wish your armor was more customizable like in Reach but hey im still happy… I thoroughly enjoy Warzone, looking forward to Warzone Firefight at the end of the month, currently grinding out my Gold packs sooo yea lol. Ive been with Halo since day one, and yes combat is evolving!
I could write a paper if I were to collect my thoughts on every aspect of the game. Would be a pretty -Yoink- read though, as my thoughts are nebulous.
It’s not awful. It’s nothing particularly special either. It’s pretty far removed from the originals, not only in gameplay but in story and art as well. Definitely a lot less unique in those departments than it used to be.
I’m far more excited for SPV3 than I am for Halo 6. That’s just sad.

343 just needs to use my CE mode
(I’ve updated that with CE magnum, btw)
I think the H5 campaign was good. Brought back going to awesome locations like in H2 and H3 instead of being like H4 where it felt like the same place every level. The level design was really good and the gameplay was very fun. I personally didn’t care for H4’s story and I liked that H5 went away from it.
Being brief:
Overall I think it has redeemed the series, is a solid Halo game and that the changes work. Campaign was disappointing from a story perspective despite having awesome moments and generally fun gameplay, wasn’t as fun solo due to immersion breaking AI teammates. Warzone is as fun as it is frustrating, I have mixed feelings about it but I do continue to play it, I think it needs a lot of improvement. Multiplayer is competitive and fun, the super fast pace can put me off sometimes because of rapid flanking, heavy emphasis on momentum and incredibly quick TTK, but overall I think it’s great. Love forge, it’s incredible but there needs to be better ways of accessing people’s awesome content, a proper file share hub and a custom games browser is essential, I feel. I wasn’t bummed about the missing playlists and gamemodes at launch as some because I highly value the traditional Halo experience over the other ‘fun’ modes. I could go on but, basically:
There is a huge list of things which they did really well and/or improved in Halo 5, from base gameplay changes through to auxiliary stuff like removing host advantage with dedicated servers.
There is a list of about 15 discrete things which I think Halo 5 needs to do to continue improving, and which are needed for Halo 6.
Right now Halo 5 is an incredible experience which I’m really enjoying - could be even better though.

So sign a contract from rumple stiltskin to become I DR HALSEY I for a day and make a three reply long post?
Does the 6/10 rating from a reviewer such as angry joe who is familiar with the series but not as passionate as some of us seem too low or high?

No I’ve seen that review. With what halo 5 was at launch that rating is perfect for it.
I don’t like how vehicles are so week in the game and BTB maps only have ghosts and warhogs
Me and MrMartini85 are on the same page as far as what we like and don’t like about Halo 5. I do like that there has been a bit of a course-reversal from Halo 4. In whatever way the detractors decide to spin it, there has been a return to form in some ways.
I don’t agree with some parts of 343’s interpretation of the art style, like the gross overuse of Blue and red tones in quite a few maps, or that a lot of the maps we’ve gotten up to this point have been mostly human-based. Not that there haven’t been exceptions.
Forge is amazing in every possible way, other shooters should be taking notes instead of pedaling every bit of paid DLC.
I love H5. But then I have loved every Halo game. Every Halo brought good and bad changes to different aspects.

I feel like even though they have added some previous things that rating is still the rating i would give it today
