My prediction:
Since we’re likely not getting elites playable again (seriously 343, get them playable) it’s again going to be limited to Spartans. Even more damaging is the removal of armor abilities so nothing cool there.
Weapon lowering should be fixed in this installment so I’m guessing machinima making will be as limited as it was in Halo CE. A camera, a spartan, a map, and a script.
Le sigh…
Elites do not have to be playable for this to be a fantastic game. (seriously)
Damaging that they removed the unnecessary and widely disliked armor abilities? That’s what is fantastic about Halo 5.
Weapon lowering shouldn’t even be a priority. They are more worried about multiple other things. Machinima can make their own stuff happen, but it shouldn’t affect the entire communities experience with the game because you want to watch their shows.

Where in this entire post did I say any of what I said should take priority over the core game?
My God you people need to quit jumping on people who want more options out of this stuff.
If elites aren’t playable that’s not ruining the game for me, if weapon lowering is still botched that won’t ruin the game for me, armor abilities being removed isn’t ruining the game for me.
Bungie was was able to do most of these things in Halo 3 and Halo Reach. I simply want to see them back to be used for community content (machinma being a major one).

Bungie did that. Not 343i. 343i has their own direction, I’m letting them do what they want. They would have to do too much work to make it available for ‘community content’, when it isn’t needed for the game. (unless they make arbiter playable, but that is just speculation right now)

(These are in order of your bolded responses)
I’m talking in terms of community content creators, people who make stuff like forge maps and custom playlists. People I was hoping this topic would attract. Not the multiplayer focused people.
My bad, not being sarcastic.
No, it’s a huge preference of mine but it’s not game defining. I was able to enjoy Halo Reach and 4 quite well without playable elites
Community content is just as essential as a game being balanced and fun. Most of Bungie’s previous Halo games excelled in both categories. Halo 4 is a key example of what happens when you fail at both.

Most of Bungie’s previous Halo games excelled in both categories. Halo 4 is a key example of what happens when you fail at both. I don’t think Halo 4 failed at all in being balanced/fun. I enjoyed it, really. Some of the weapons were not balanced, but that is sort of the point, isn’t it? Not everything can hold it’s own against everything else, it all depends on the skill and the location that it’s being used, etc.

I’m not saying Halo 4 wasn’t fun or a bad game. From my stand point it didn’t succeed in community and from what I’ve heard of MP people it failed there too. So the community is lower than Reach’s because of that.
