here is a list of questions that i think are very relevant when looking at the mechanics in reach specifically, and the mechanics in halo games also.
true or false:
1.) halo reach can be updated
2.) an update to halo reach would make more people play the game
3.) it is worse to have a melee system that removes the viability of shooting from -SOME- close combat battles over one that does not remove the viability of shooting (AKA it is worse to have the no-bleed melee system over the halo 3 post-patch melee system)
4.) it is worse to have a weapon that adds a random luck factor to the game
5.) luck adds nothing of value to halo
6.) it is worse to have coin flip close range DMR vs DMR battles rather than ‘person who shoots better wins’ battles
7.) it is worse to have grenades be mini nukes
8.) it is worse to have armor lock last 6+ seconds rather than 3 seconds (max duration)
9.) it is worse to cater to 1 specific group of people with a halo game (be that competitive, or casual)
10.) it is worse to remove skill gap from halo
11.) it is worse to have a matchmaking system that only works for certain skill levels of people -most- of the time
12.) it is worse to let people simply run away if they get outplayed / out shot
i’d say every one of these are true statements. this being said, if you think any of these is a ‘false’ statement, please say which one and why you believe it to be false.
what do you guys think? are all of these true statements, or am i wrong about something?
