Let's make this a better place for H5 discussion

This forum SHOULD be the premier location for discussing what is right/wrong with this title, but it has devolved into a slog of repetition and bickering. Central to the issue is the insistence on making new threads that are identical to threads that already exist.

For example, I log in this morning and find several threads relating to the issue of disconnects. This should be a fine place for people talk about their server issues. But it would be much more constructive to have a single thread about server issues. That way, ALL of the information is in a central location. This way we could all help each other troubleshoot, and it would make it more reasonable for 343i to come in and interact on 1 thread instead of 27. And the thread would simply be updated whenever new issues arrive.

It’s the same with threads about 343i’s direction on Halo. It’s ok if you hate it. It’s ok if you love it. But why have a million threads about how 343 ruined Halo5? Why can’t people who feel like discussing their pleasure/displeasure with the direction do so in a single thread. This would make it much easier for the dev to get an understanding of how this community actually feels about certain issues, rather than vocal minorities appearing to be the majority.

so many topics have so many threads; farming, sprint, matchmaking gripes, etc.

It would be nice to have “official threads” on these topics, sort of like how Neogaf does it.

We do appreciate suggestions (and by all means, send them our way). But the reason we refrain from making prevalent issued stickied at the top of the forum is that there would just be too many stickies.

Another downside is that if one of them were to degrade into name calling, insults, and in general non constructive nonsense, we’d have to lock the thread.

It’s best to let people voice their concerns in their own manner. A sticky doesn’t allow for people to voice their issues on their own. It would be nothing more than another post in a 300 page topic.

I understand the desire to want to keep the forums organized. But we don’t want to do so at the expense of people losing their voices. It just comes across as us saying “Dislike sprint? Take a number and grab a seat.”

But this doesn’t mean the moderating team isn’t open to suggestions. If you have them, please send them my way.
