Ive been seeing a lot of people saying goodbye to halo and 343 fans saying good riddance. I want to say how about we stop fighting, we act like adults, and we save Halo from its community! The real reason why Halo is failing is because the community is tearing itself apart with older fans vs newer fans, when there’s guys like me in the middle trying to stop this whole -Yoink- and is trying to save Halo. We must address issues and come together as a community, not give up and hate on the other player base. All of the older vets have already left and are never gonna see this post so please, spread the word to save Halo from its community and to make Halo the greatest FPS game again!
i mean I’ve played halo since CE and i am still here. did i leave halo during reach years? kinda but no i just played with 3 cause it was a better game IMO. everyone just needs to come together and 343 needs to actually listen to what people say. an example, ranking system. i have seen so many posts saying that we need a halo 2/3 ranking system return, i have seen this post since i started on the forums during halo 4. but what do we get? the current ranking system, you make a game the consumer wants and the consumer will buy it.
I’m willing to help. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing big team battle today despite some issues on Recurve. I know this Halo isn’t perfect, but just leaving it won’t do any good. I haven’t been that happy with the 4 and MCC, but even with their blunders I want to make sure that Halo 5 gets to be the best it can be.
One of the biggest things they need to fix soon is Theater mode. Why can’t I take screenshots and save them in game? Why can I still not zoom? If they want more community driven content they need to fix theater and have a proper file share system ( Why has this been messed up three times now?) when the forge update comes out. There are other issues, but as someone who likes to take screenshots a lot, this is very irksome.
Everyone does this every 3 years. They come back. They always do.
Look at all the H4 praise lately.
In 3 years people will say “Halo 6 ruined Halo! I’m done!” And be praising H5.
The cycles repeating.

I’ve actually never seen halo 4 praise. And it does seem like it but I’m really convinced that it’s starting to actually happen now.
People just complain too much. Sure some stuff is missing from Halo 5, but its still a great game. I think everyone who enjoys the game is just too busy playing it to come on these forums. The only reason I’m not playing it is because I’m at the hospital with my girlfriend.
I played since halo CE and this is the best multiplayer ever. the story was garbage yes but the multiplayer is great. Its short on playlists but if they keep up giving us monthly updates like this one it will only get better. Tose people that claim to play since Halo CE are always complaining about the pistol (the irony) and that they suck at the game for some reason and I can not understand how they can be so bad after playing every single halo for a longer period of time. Also now apparently Reach had the best multiplayer when at the time everybody hated it because it wasn’t halo enough (I think Reach was bad too even though I played it a lot). Halo Reach comes out the ones that say they are the real halo fans since Halo CE say it isn’t Halo enough and now Halo 5 comes out and now Halo 5 isn’t Halo enough and Reach was the best.
Well part of it is just sloppy design IMO. For the life of me I don’t know why Slayer, CTF, and Strongholds are not their own modes in arena with options for 4v4 or BTB. I don’t necessarily want to play BTB Slayer, but I love CTF and Strongholds BTB. Now 4v4 I love Slayer.
Basically, they don’t give the Objective modes the importance they give others, which is an offense to me. I’m not leaving. I question some of the design though.

It’s a cycle. When Halo 2 came out it was straying to far from the glorious original Halo: CE. When Halo 3 came out it was a crippled Halo 2 with not much effort put into it like the great improvements made in its predecessor. When Halo: Reach came out it was a steaming pile of -Yoink- that didn’t compare to the perfect balanced and immaculate Halo 3. When Halo 4 cam out it was a CoD clone made by a ragtag studio not interested in duplicating the pinnacle of Halo: that being Reach. Now that Halo 5 is out, well, you get the picture.
People lash out against change, decide they like it, and let nostalgia take over their brains when more changes are made.

Pregnancy happened, lol. I agree work needs to be done, but people claiming they are done with Halo because of it are blowing things way out of proportion.
Most players don’t engage with the ‘community’. If people are leaving it’s not because of what others have said on forums like this. It’s because of their own in game experiences in Halo and it’s rivals.
Its the ones that dont say anything before they leave, these are the ones you have to worry about. The idea is great and the game play solid. This game promotes individuality, yet still supports your team play. Which is very confusing to people.They will come around. But yes we have to help the game, being fans. No I am no fanboy but a fan of the game as a whole.

… point is, there are a bunch of us Waypointers who enjoy Halo 4 for what it is; we like it because it did something different. Doesn’t mean we’re not die hard Halo 2 fans also. Or Halo 3. My personal favorite is CE. Some people are actually capable of liking more than one kind of thing, you know

… actually, I just remembered I wasn’t either. I got the game around Christmas 2012 and joined the forums shortly after that because I enjoyed it so much. Figured I ought to be ridiculed on the internet for it. lol
Yes OP I agree, we the community need to come together and help save Halo. We’re the key to the game and we can help 343, so remember to buy more req packs.
Its actually not the community believe it or not. The community is vocal on a metric ton of issues and is adamant about debating them. And why is that? Because the game widely failed to meet expectations. Opinions aside, Halo 5 is the lowest ranked in the series on metacritic both from a user score and aggregate reviewer score. You have no idea how badly I want to help the series, but 343i is not listening. They keeps boasting the same corporate one liners to pacify the real issues and there are a lot of real issues. I know I am not the only one in saying Halo 6 has a lot…A LOT riding on it.
