Lets Have A Real Classic Playlist

Sgt x Slaphead and Myself, Kell Of Scot, have created a gametype that maintains the Mobility of Halo 5 but without seperating it from you ability to Attack. We turned the base move speed up to be as fast as sprinting, we turned the forward and strafe acceleration up to 130, which with the move speed easily replaces thruster and upping the jumpheight as you don’t need Clamber. But you’re ability to shoot is never removed.

ForgeHub has done a feature on it, I will link the Reddit Post, Youtube Link and ForgeHub Interview, I recommend looking at them all.

343 intends to have a “Classic” playlist in the near future

Except they want just spawn you with an H2 BR and the base Halo 5 movement mechanics and dump you on some remakes. We know this because of the map submission thread here on Waypoint.

That isn’t a classic playlist. We urge the community to push for OUR settings as for true classic playlist, not that joke of a playlist idea.

too bad the H2BR isn’t suitable for this mode…it just looks soo much better then the H5 one
I’d probably try to come up with settings that create a 4sk pistol and remove rifles but the video looks so much better then regular H5 settings anyway, hope to get to play it sometime soon

did you tweet the settings to Holms/bravo/whoever you can find on twitter?

I did not, I definitely should, but I kinda feel if more people outside the makers were to tweet it at them it would be more powerful in a way.

This is great. I saw on TB some players were getting some custom games going and they said it plays better than default Halo 5.

-Yoink!-! Finally something doing something productive instead of complaining on why it’s not in the game. Anywho great job I’m sure there is a community who will appreciate this … to some degree.

Bump x100

this has my support why would they try to call it a classic playlist when they added the sprint disable option specifically for that reason and then not use it for their idea of a classic playlist? Regardless hopefully 343 picks this one up instead.

I agree 100% if they create a classic playlist which they most likely are because their asking for maps from old maps with or without abilities.I hope forgers see this thread or video and create maps that dont need the h5 mobility and play like the older halos for those veteran players.

I’m sure this a fun little deal for customs. Don’t care to see it made a playlist. These types of playlists always fail, despite any rationalizing made by the handful of people that play it. I’ve never been fond of gametypes that differ substantially from the core mechanics of the base game, and there are a number of playlists I’d rather see take a slot over a “classic” playlist.

Would be very interested in playing this, looks like a very good continuation of classic arena.

Just wondering OP, where did you see that 343 was planning on adding a classic playlist? I hadn’t heard about that but I could just be out of the loop

In the Community Creations Forums, there’s a 343 made thread for Classic Maps.

I would prefer classic playlists not just 1 have like snipers slayer btb and objective

Usually because the so called “Classic” playlists didn’t actually properly support classic Halo. Halo 4 had sprint In it for example

Great job! 343 needs to implement this with some good classic maps

I support this idea. I have a similar gametype with similar settings, but after watching the video of yours in action, I think yours is the better version.

Firefight has already brought me back a little, but something like this would definitely get me to play Arena again.

Hahahaha, you done did it.

Let me go ahead and provide the rationalization a Halo 5 Classic playlist would fail: “Well 343 took so long to do it that everyone that wanted the playlist already left.”

It’s not a rationalization, we never had a classic playlist in the past, precisely because 343 refused to differ from the core mechanics of the game. Reach Anniversary still had bloom (and loadouts, afair), Halo 4 still had sprint… you can’t prove that classic playlists fail by giving examples that aren’t classic playlists.
Also, the majority of fans have already left. The intention behind such a playlist is to get them back

And I will continue to do so as long you continue posting ridiculous non sequiturs and ad hominems…

Is there a fake classic playlist?
