I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the big wins 343 managed to accomplish with this Winter Update, and also discuss where I would like to see some improvements next. Starting with the wins,
- PC Optimization Improvements - I have a mega rig (3090ti) and would struggle to maintain 100 FPS. Now I don’t even dip below my max FPS selection. Overall the game feels much more smooth on PC.
- KBM Improvements - this is a follow up from PC Optimization, but since gameplay feels much better on PC, playing on mouse and keyboard feels more fluid.
- FORGE - do I even need to mention this? Forge creators are already pumping out an infinite amount of content.
- Match XP & Challenge System Overhaul - much welcomed change, I feel like the pace through the pass is better and it’s nice to be able to play whatever mode I want, while still progressing challenges.
So what does Infinite need to work on next?
- Career Progression & Rewards - We’re Halo players. We like to grind for achievements and gear. Right now, everything is a participation trophy through the season pass. Give us something to work for!
- Continue improving the feel of MnK - while this update did improve a lot, there’s still work to go on making mouse and keyboard feel comfortable in this game
- Content - keep pumping out content. Get all these forge creations into a playlist. More ranked modes. Just more HALO across the board.
