Let's Get Speculative! - Animals in Trailer

From a fictional standpoint, what do we think of the prehistoric-Earth-looking animals on a Halo ring, and which Halo ring do we believe it is?
What part does this play in the overall story considering all the existing video games, novels and comics (including Halo 5 Guardians, The Forerunner Saga and Hunters in the Dark, for example)? From a lore perspective, why are we seeing this much wildlife on a Halo installation now when we never did before, and why do they look so familiar?
In addition, what part do we think they may play in-game? How may they affect the plot? How would we like to interact with them?
Let’s have some fun discussing. Any unique theories out there? Any creative ideas?

They may just be bringing back all the wildlife planned for halo wars 1 and halo CE.

I believe that Halo: Infinite is a much needed “reboot” for the franchise.

Reboot in mind, were going back to our roots and chief is back on the inital core halo ring. not back per say, more like on it to begin with.

The armor the chief is wearing in the trailer seems somewhat new?
in the forerunner saga we saw chief warn out and his armor durability nearly diminished.
This leads me to speculate that the chief is actually just getting suited up for the first time and finally being put to use. Take a look at the trailer again notice how his interior mesh legging is somewhat smaller from previous games, thats how i took note that this could be taking place somewhat either during or before the events of Halo 3. Halo 2 was the baseplate for the mark vi so obviously its not before the events of combat evolved.

I only noticed insects and the rhinos in the trailer, even that beast that goes behind the foreground of the cloth covering the radio equipment had the shadow outlining of a rhino. My guess is this was just to showcase the might of the game engine as the trailer was more of a showcase then anything, regardless if wild life has been in the works this only proves my point that we are on the initial halo ring. I doubt the animals have any significant role in the story, theyll probably just be pawns you push through to get to the next zone which will always be pleasingly aesthetic.

This game takes place directly following the events of Halo 5: Guardians.

I think the wildlife creates a parallel with Halo CE’s announcement trailer way back in 2000 and hints at more environmental interactions.

Fans found out it takes place on zeta halo, and the environment was specifically made to represent earths environment because ancient humans were kept on that ring, and in hunters in the dark there are scientists on the halo and there were deer like creatures on the ring so it would make more sense that these creatures were on the ring. It might also mean we get to travel to some abandoned ancient human settlements

Its speculated to being zeta Halo as in installation 07 which could turn out to be interesting location. One of the things hinting this is the morse code in the teaser.

And as mentioned before, it was a place where there were ancient humanity so that could be the reason for similarities to earth. This has also led to speculations that the glyphs seen in the trailer are the writing of ancient humanity hence why it doesnt match known forerunner glyphs but looks rather similar.
And as to why there is so much wildlife. Firstly its a engine showcase and not accurate presentation of the upcoming game so it could be that. Otherwise it could be that new engine allows for more diversity and numbers in moving objects or it could be again about it being a place where ancient humans were supposed to be like in home.

As for the wildlifes part in the game. Possibly the same as for any other wildlife in Halo series before.

As for interactions. Perhaps some could be part of easter eggs and such.

Not yet.

The cave carvings are in all likelihood remnants of the ancient humans that were kept on the ring. Otherwise this post is pretty much what I was gonna day.

All I know is that given the presence of animal life on the ring, I want to ride a literal warthog into battle like some kind of crazy crash bandicoot/Halo mash up.

There is nothing I would love to see more than Blind Wolves and Thorn Beasts in Halo Infinite! I’ve wanted to encounter them in a game since the H1 E3 Demo from 2000!

I never used to cared much about the Blind Wolves in terms of adding them to the games. Always thought it was a bit ridiculous how these random, wild, never-before-seen reptiles could be ridden by a four-hundred-and-fifty-kilogram metal man. However, I always thought they were a cool concept, I liked how the Halo Reach Guta looked like a combination of the Blind Wolves and the Drinol, and I liked how they were made canon in Hunters in the Dark. It’d be nice to see them pop up in the games at some stage.

In regards to the Thorn Beasts, I’ve wanted to eat one since 2007.

And how about the Promethean looking thing that you only get to see a shadow of in the water. I saw it and was quite intrigued about it especially because it was trying to move out of sight.
